“Hind Di Chadar” Inspires Protection of Human Values Through Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib Ji’s Sacrifice – Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis

Massive gathering of devotees in Nanded for the 350th Shaheedi Samagam programme

Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis highlighted that the sacrifice of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib Ji was made for the protection of human values. “His martyrdom inspires us to stand fearlessly for truth, dharma, and the safeguarding of human principles. The state government has taken the initiative to ensure that his teachings reach every household,” he said.

Addressing the gathering at Modi Maidan in Nanded during the “Hind Di Chadar” 350th Shaheedi Samagam, the Chief Minister was joined by Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar, Andhra Pradesh Deputy CM Konidala Pawan Kalyan, State Water Resources Minister Girish Mahajan, Animal Husbandry Minister Pankaja Munde, Cooperation Minister Babasaheb Patil, Guardian Minister Atul Save, New Delhi Minister of Industry, Food & Civil Supplies Sardar Manjinder Singh Sirsa, former CM and MP Ashok Chavan, MPs Dr. Ajit Gopchade and Dr. Bhagwat Karad, MLAs Pratap Patil Chikhalkar, Balaji Kalyankar, Shrijaya Chavan, Jitendra Antapurkar, Ravindra Chavan, State Minority Development Corporation Chair Lalit Gandhi, Chief Secretary of CM Office Shrikar Pardeshi, Divisional Commissioner Jitendra Papalkar, Special DIG Shahaji Umap, District Collector Rahul Kardile, SP Abinash Kumar, Gurudwara Board Administrator Dr. Vijay Satbir Singh, and State Coordinator of Shaheedi Samagam Committee Rameshwar Naik.

CM Fadnavis emphasized that Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib Ji’s sacrifice was not only for Sikhism but also for preserving the culture, civilization, ideology, and dharma of the nation. “His courage, valor, and supreme sacrifice have brought millions together on Nanded’s historic land. His legacy inspires a renewed consciousness across India to defend religion, freedom, and self-respect. The Shaheedi programme aims to bring this glorious history to everyone, extending beyond a single-day event to reach villages and homes across the state. The government is also ensuring that Sikh Gurus’ history is taught to students,” he said.

The programme seeks to unite communities that revere Guru Nanak Dev Ji’s teachings, promoting harmony and breaking social divides. CM Fadnavis noted that Guru Gobind Singh Ji’s long stay in Nanded has sanctified the land and strengthened social cohesion.

Deputy CM Ajit Pawar observed that Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib Ji’s sacrifice exemplifies defending human and cultural heritage, religious freedom, and moral courage against oppressive rulers. “His fearless actions set an ideal for religious and ethical steadfastness,” he said.

Andhra Pradesh Deputy CM Pawan Kalyan urged youth to follow Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji’s ideals, preserve national integrity, and draw inspiration from historical figures like Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, Sant Tukaram, Sant Dnyaneshwar, Mahatma Phule, and Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar.

Delhi Minister Sardar Manjinder Singh Sirsa praised the programme for bringing nine communities together to honor Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji’s legacy, acknowledging CM Fadnavis for implementing Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of popularizing the Guru’s history.

Sant Gyani Harnam Singh highlighted the unique bond between Maharashtra and Punjab fostered by Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji and Sant Namdev Maharaj, encouraging youth to adopt his values and preserve the religious heritage for future generations.

The event commenced with CM Fadnavis paying respects at Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji, honoring the Panj Pyare, and being welcomed by Baba Kulwant Singh, Baba Harnam Singh, and Baba Balwinder Singh. The programme’s inaugural address was delivered by Sharadrao Dhole of the All India Dharma Jagran Committee, and State Coordinator Rameshwar Naik extended the vote of thanks.
