Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar Congratulates ‘Shaurya and Seva Medal’ Winners Announced on the Eve of Republic Day
Mumbai, Jan 2026 : On the eve of India’s 77th Republic Day, the nation announced the recipients of the Shaurya (Bravery) and Seva (Service) Medals for police, fire, home guard, and correctional service personnel across the country. Among the awardees, 89 officers and staff from Maharashtra have been recognised. Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar personally congratulated the medal winners.
In his message, Deputy CM Pawar stated that 31 police personnel from Maharashtra have been awarded the Veerta Padak (Bravery Medal), 6 officers have received the President’s Medal for distinguished and exceptional service, and 52 officers and staff across various departments have been honoured with the Utkrsht Seva Padak (Excellent Service Medal). These awards symbolise the efficiency, courage, and dedication to public service of Maharashtra’s police and security forces.
“This recognition is a matter of immense pride for Maharashtra, as it honours officers and personnel who work tirelessly round-the-clock for the safety and security of citizens, often putting their own lives at risk. The courage displayed by the recipients of the Bravery Medal has elevated the state’s prestige,” Pawar said.
He further congratulated all awardees for strengthening Maharashtra’s proud legacy of service and valor and extended his best wishes for their continued dedication in the future.
These awards not only acknowledge individual bravery and service but also reflect the commitment of Maharashtra’s security forces to uphold public safety and excellence across the state.
