Deputy Chief Minister Sunetra Ajit Pawar Assumes Charge at Mantralaya
Mumbai, Feb 2026 : Deputy Chief Minister Sunetra Ajit Pawar assumed charge as Deputy Chief Minister at her office on the sixth floor of the Mantralaya on Tuesday. On the occasion, she offered a floral tribute to the portrait of the late Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar and paid her heartfelt respects.

Deputy Chief Minister Pawar formally took charge of the departments of State Excise, Sports and Youth Welfare, Minority Development, and Wakf. Several senior ministers, legislators, and dignitaries were present during the ceremony. Among those in attendance were Food and Civil Supplies Minister Chhagan Bhujbal, Medical Education Minister Hasan Mushrif, Agriculture Minister Dattatraya Bharane, Cooperation Minister Babasaheb Patil, Food and Drug Administration Minister Narhari Zirwal, Women and Child Development Minister Aditi Tatkare, Minister of State Indranil Naik, State Women’s Commission Chairperson Rupali Chakankar, Members of Parliament Praful Patel and Sunil Tatkare, Deputy Chief Minister’s Secretary Dr. Rajesh Deshmukh, along with several MLAs and prominent personalities from various fields.
Earlier in the day, before assuming office at the Mantralaya, Deputy Chief Minister Pawar paid floral tributes to the portraits of Rajmata Jijau, the mother of Hindavi Swarajya; the great warrior king Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj; social reformer Mahatma Jyotiba Phule; Bharat Ratna Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar; and Krantijyoti Savitribai Phule, offering her respects to these iconic figures.
Tribute at Chaityabhoomi
Deputy Chief Minister Sunetra Ajit Pawar also visited Chaityabhoomi in Dadar, where she paid homage to Bharat Ratna Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar. On this occasion, Legislative Assembly Deputy Speaker Anna Bansode, MPs Praful Patel and Sunil Tatkare, State Women’s Commission Chairperson Rupali Chakankar, General Secretary of the Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Mahaparinirvan Day Coordination Committee Nagasen Kamble, Parth Ajit Pawar, and other dignitaries were present.

Visit to Siddhivinayak Temple
Later, Deputy Chief Minister Pawar offered prayers at the Shri Siddhivinayak Ganapati Temple at Prabhadevi. She was accompanied by MPs Praful Patel and Sunil Tatkare, State Women’s Commission Chairperson Rupali Chakankar, Parth Ajit Pawar, Chairman of the Shri Siddhivinayak Ganapati Temple Trust Sadanand Sarvankar, and other dignitaries.
