Indore Gets New 300-Bed District Hospital: Chief Minister Dr. Yadav

Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav said that the Madhya Pradesh Government is making sustained efforts to ensure development across all sectors and expand public amenities. He said that while infrastructure is being developed continuously, special emphasis is being placed on maintaining high construction quality. The newly constructed district hospital is another significant addition to Indore’s healthcare infrastructure. Expressing confidence that the hospital will provide better healthcare services to citizens, the Chief Minister on Wednesday inaugurated the 300-bed state-of-the-art District Hospital, constructed by the Madhya Pradesh Housing and Infrastructure Development Board at a cost of approximately ₹83.13 crore.

Built on nearly 3.40 acres of land on Dhar Road, the G+4 hospital building, with a built-up area of approximately two lakh square feet, is equipped with modern medical facilities. The hospital is expected to provide high-quality healthcare services not only to residents of Indore but also to patients from neighbouring districts.

Madhya Pradesh Continues to Make Rapid Progress in Healthcare

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that a changing India is establishing a distinct identity across every sector. He credited Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s leadership over the past 12 years for bringing about remarkable progress across the country and said that India’s economy is reaching new milestones. He noted that several healthcare initiatives have expanded access to quality medical services, enabling a large number of citizens to benefit from various treatment schemes. The Chief Minister said that until 2003, Madhya Pradesh had only five medical colleges, and this was the extent of progress made during the preceding 55 years. At that time, the state had only 500 MBBS seats. Today, the state has 33 medical colleges with over 5,500 MBBS seats, and the government has set a target of increasing the number of medical colleges to 52.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said Madhya Pradesh is the only state to provide tuition fee support to meritorious students who qualify the NEET examination but choose to pursue medical education in private medical colleges or equivalent institutions instead of government medical colleges.

Hospital Equipped with State-of-the-Art Facilities

The four-storey hospital has been equipped with advanced medical and diagnostic facilities to ensure quality healthcare. It includes outpatient services (OPD), medicine and surgery departments, gynaecology wards and operation theatres, paediatric facilities, a dialysis unit, a modern nursing call system, pathology laboratory, digital X-ray, CT scan, MRI and ultrasonography services. Gynaecology services, MRI, CT scan and X-ray facilities have already commenced.

Chandan Nagar–Airport Road Project Approved

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that the new district hospital would serve as a major healthcare facility for the people of Indore. He described it as a new temple of public service and good governance in the city of Lokmata Devi Ahilyabai Holkar, adding that it would play a vital role in meeting the city’s growing healthcare needs. He said the state government remains committed to the holistic development of Indore and is undertaking various development works with the objective of improving the health, welfare and prosperity of every citizen. He also approved the construction of the Chandan Nagar–Airport Road. The Chief Minister said the launch of the Indore-Abu Dhabi flight is another example of the expansion of aviation connectivity in the state. He added that, under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, Indore and the entire state of Madhya Pradesh are making rapid progress across all sectors.

Process to Implement Uniform Civil Code to Be Advanced During Monsoon Session of the Assembly

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that extensive public consultations would be undertaken before implementing the Uniform Civil Code (UCC) in Madhya Pradesh. He said that after the constitution of a special committee, more than 10 lakh suggestions had been received from all 55 districts of the state. Suggestions were invited from all political parties, religions and communities, and the UCC would be implemented through broad consensus. The Chief Minister said that the necessary legislative process to implement the UCC would be taken forward during the forthcoming Monsoon Session of the State Legislative Assembly. He added that it is essential for all citizens to be governed by equal rules and laws.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav also said that several initiatives are being undertaken in the interest of farmers during Krishak Kalyan Varsh. He added that the recently organised Tech Growth Conclave 3.0 was aimed at enhancing skill development and creating greater employment opportunities for youth. The Chief Minister formally inaugurated the 300-bed District Hospital in Indore. The programme commenced with the collective rendition of the national song ‘Vande Mataram’. A large gathering of citizens expressed happiness at the inauguration of Indore’s largest district hospital after M.Y. Hospital.

Urban Development and Housing Minister Shri Kailash Vijayvargiya, Water Resources Minister Shri Tulsiram Silawat and Indore Mayor Shri Pushyamitra Bhargav also addressed the gathering.
