Literary Gathering of Gahoi Vaishya Seva Samiti

National Poet Maithili Sharan Gupt Remembered

Lucknow, Aug 2026 : A literary gathering was organised on Monday by the Gahoi Vaishya Seva Samiti at Eiffel Club in Gomti Nagar to mark the birth anniversary of national poet Maithili Sharan Gupt. The programme featured a discussion on the poet’s life and literary contributions, along with poetry recitations and other literary presentations.

On the occasion, Laxminarayan Gupta, Vinod Kumar Gupta ‘Bhavuk’, Archana Sanwala, retired IAS officer Anil Damele, Rashmi Hunka and Rashmi Seth presented their poetry, receiving appreciation from the audience.

Addressing the gathering, Samiti President Vinod Kumar Gupta ‘Bhavuk’ highlighted Maithili Sharan Gupt’s significant contribution to Hindi literature. He said that the national poet’s literature, deeply rooted in national consciousness, continues to serve as a source of inspiration even today.

The programme was conducted by Archana Gupta, while General Secretary Gyanendra Gupta proposed the vote of thanks.

The event was attended by Sanjay Gupta, Alok Seth, Rajiv Gupta, Ankit Gupta, along with several office-bearers, senior members of the Samiti and literature enthusiasts.
