United States Government Orders The Nicaraguan, Honduran And Nepalese To Use CBP Home App For Sortie.
Washington DC; February 2026: Yesterday on 10th February 2026, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) issued the following statement after the Trump Administration was handed a legal victory in the Ninth Federal Circuit on President Trump’s decision to terminate Temporary Protected Status (TPS} for individuals from Nicaragua, Honduras, and Nepal.
“A win for the rule of law and vindication for the US Constitution. Under the previous administration Temporary Protected Status was abused to allow violent terrorists, criminals, and national security threats into our nation”, said United States Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem. “TPS was never designed to be permanent, yet previous administrations have used it as a de facto amnesty program for decades. Given the improved situation in each of these countries, we are wisely concluding what was intended to be a temporary designation”.
In the Summer of 2025, Secretary Noem announced the termination of TPS programs for Honduras, Nepal and Nicaragua. TPS status has been in place for Honduras and Nicaragua since Hurricane Mitch in 1998, and in place for Nepal since 2015 due to earthquakes. Since then, each of these countries has made tremendous strides to recover and as a result it is safe for these nationals to return home.
Nicaraguan, Honduran, and Nepalese nationals returning home are encouraged to use the US Customs and Border Protection CBP Home app to report their departure from the United States.
Benefits Of CBP App –
The Department of Homeland Security has announced a historic opportunity for illegal aliens to receive cost-free travel, forgiveness of any failure to depart fines, and a $2,600 exit bonus to facilitate travel back to their home country or another country where they have lawful status through the CBP Home Mobile App.
- Once the non-criminal illegal aliens submit their intent to depart through the CBP Home Mobile App and pass vetting, they will be temporarily deprioritised by ICE for detention or enforcement action before their scheduled departure.
- Illegal aliens who register for voluntary self-departure through the CBP Home Mobile App will receive cost-free travel, a $2,600 exit bonus, and forgiveness of any failure to depart fines. Illegal aliens requesting assistance will have a timely departure arranged for them. The CBP Home Mobile App allows illegal aliens to plan their return, including having an opportunity to depart in a timely manner, allowing illegal aliens to wrap up work, school, and personal matters and organise their return in an orderly and lawful way.
- The CBP Home program lets eligible aliens return home as regular travelers—without arrest, detention, or restraints. It’s a safe, orderly alternative that provides assistance and flexibility, not fear.
- The illegal aliens will have civil fines for failure to depart after a final order of removal or a voluntary departure order in the U.S. forgiven. They not have to pay these fines.
