Bank Fair Organised for Self-Help Groups Under “Bihan”
Jashpurnagar, February 2026 : A bank fair is being organised for Self-Help Groups (SHGs) under the Chhattisgarh State Rural Livelihood Mission “Bihan” to facilitate access to institutional credit. The initiative aims to meet the financial needs of SHGs formed and restructured during the financial year 2025–26 by providing loans through banks.
With the objective of accelerating bank linkage and Mudra loan disbursement for Self-Help Groups, it has been proposed to organise bank fairs at the block level in the respective Janpad Panchayat offices.
According to the scheduled programme, the bank fair will be held at the Jashpur Janpad Panchayat office on February 18, at the Manora Janpad Panchayat office on February 18, at the Kunkuri Janpad Panchayat office on February 19, at the Pathalgaon Janpad Panchayat office on February 20, at the Duldula Janpad Panchayat office on February 23, at the Kansabel Janpad Panchayat office on February 25, at the Bagicha Janpad Panchayat office on February 26, and at the Farsabahar Janpad Panchayat office on February 27, 2026.
For the financial year 2025–26, the State Office has set a target of disbursing loans worth ₹14,847.56 lakh to a total of 5,085 Self-Help Groups in Jashpur district. Against this target, loans amounting to ₹7,044.82 lakh have already been disbursed to 4,005 Self-Help Groups through the development blocks, achieving 78.76 per cent of the annual target.
In addition, financial assistance is also being provided through banks to eligible members of newly formed Self-Help Groups to promote individual livelihood activities. This initiative is expected to enhance the economic empowerment of the groups and create new self-employment opportunities in rural areas.
