Five lakh loan without a guarantee, a journey from struggle to self-reliance

Fortunes transformed through the Chief Minister Yuva Udyami Vikas Abhiyan as Azamgarh’s Avinash builds a digital library chain

Second branch launched within one and a half years, and an expansion planned in Prayagraj

Lucknow, March 2026 : The Mukhyamantri Yuva Udyami Vikas Abhiyan (CM YUVA), being implemented in Uttar Pradesh to make youth self-reliant, is delivering positive results at the grassroots level. Twenty-five-year-old Avinash Singh from Azamgarh has emerged as a strong example of its impact. Despite limited resources and family responsibilities, he availed the benefits of the government scheme to establish his own business and has also provided employment to five young people.

Avinash, who holds a BSc in Mathematics from Allahabad University, comes from a modest farming background. His family includes his parents and five siblings. As the eldest son, he carried the financial responsibilities of the household. Amid limited family income and concerns about the future, he chose the path of entrepreneurship instead of seeking a job.

In January 2025, he learned about the Mukhyamantri Yuva Udyami Vikas Abhiyan through an online platform. After gathering detailed information about the scheme, he approached the District Industries Centre and completed the application process by submitting the required documents. With guidance from officials, his application was approved promptly.

In February 2025, he was sanctioned a loan of five lakh rupees from the State Bank of India. The loan was provided without any guarantee or collateral. On February 21, an amount of ₹2.57 lakh was deposited into his account as the first instalment, followed by ₹1.53 lakh as the second instalment a week later. The scheme also offers special relief in interest rates.

With the sanctioned amount, Avinash established ‘Vidya Digital Library’ in Azamgarh. The facility provides students with access to online study resources through modern digital infrastructure. The initiative, which offers a peaceful and technologically equipped environment for students in the area, has received a positive response. Currently, the venture generates a monthly income of over ₹30,000 for him, and he is regularly repaying more than ₹10,000 as a monthly instalment.

Encouraged by the success of his business, Avinash has launched a second digital library in Azamgarh. He is now preparing to open a third branch in Prayagraj by the middle of the year. The success achieved in a short span has significantly strengthened his confidence.

According to Avinash, if young people move forward with determination and make proper use of government schemes, self-reliance is well within reach. He believes the campaign opens doors of opportunity for youth who aspire to establish their own enterprises.

His journey demonstrates that with proper guidance, government support, and hard work, young individuals can not only strengthen their financial position but also create new avenues of employment in society.
