Government Committed to Supporting Farmers : CM Dr. Yadav

Bhopal, June 2026 : A delegation of farmers called on the Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav on Tuesday and expressed gratitude for the state government’s farmer welfare initiatives. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that activities aimed at farmers’ welfare would continue throughout Farmer Welfare Year 2026. He emphasised that the government is committed to honoring farmers and providing them with maximum possible support and facilities.

The delegation congratulated the Chief Minister on Madhya Pradesh’s achievements in wheat procurement and thanked the government for the improved arrangements made for farmers. The state procured 104.36 lakh metric tons of wheat from 13.42 lakh farmers at the Minimum Support Price (MSP). Madhya Pradesh ranked first in India in terms of the number of farmers participating in procurement and second after Punjab in total wheat procurement.

Wheat procurement was carried out in the state between April 9 and May 28. Farmers received ₹2,625 per quintal, comprising the MSP of ₹2,585 per quintal plus a ₹40 bonus. The state government has already disbursed ₹27,196.48 crore to farmers for wheat procurement.

Farmers also thanked the government for extending the loan repayment deadline from March 31 to May 31 and for introducing a provision to provide four times the compensation for land acquired for various development projects.

Members of the delegation stated that the decisions taken by the state government in the interest of farmers are highly commendable. During the meeting, they also offered suggestions related to farmer welfare, including improving the procurement system for moong (green gram), completing the registration process for moong and urad (black gram) procurement, and connecting canals with ponds to improve water management.

The delegation included Kamal Singh Anjana, Chandrakant Gaur, Sarvagya Diwan, Laxmi Narayan Patel, Prahlad Patel, and other representatives.
