Jain Philosophy of Meditation and Austerity Guides the World: Chief Minister
Jaipur, March 2026 : Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma said that spiritual consciousness is vital for advancing society and the nation, and in this direction, the Jain tradition of meditation, austerity, and self-reflection has guided the entire world. He emphasized that the state government is working with commitment to take Rajasthan’s development to new heights, and active participation of all communities, including the Jain community, is essential.
Addressing the Jain International Trade Organization (JITO) Town Representative National Conclave and Vishwa Navkar Mahamantra Day 2.0 in Jaipur on Sunday, the Chief Minister said that value-based leadership, social harmony, and spiritual consciousness form the foundation of India’s bright future. He urged everyone to prioritize honesty, transparency, public service, and ethics in decision-making, while placing a strong sense of duty above all else and remaining sensitive to one another.
Sharma noted that the Jain community has, for centuries, advanced Indian civilization and culture, making unparalleled contributions grounded in the values of non-violence, compassion, and truth. He said that through the teachings of Mahavira on non-violence and an ancient knowledge tradition, Jain philosophy has delivered the timeless message of “live and let live.”
The Chief Minister added that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, India is rapidly progressing toward the goal of Viksit Bharat 2047. He noted that India’s economy, ranked 11th globally in 2014, has now reached fourth place and is poised to soon become the third largest. He acknowledged the Jain community’s significant contribution to strengthening the economy at both the national and state levels, as well as its exemplary work in the social sector.
Highlighting the significance of Navkar Mahamantra Day 2.0, Sharma said the Navkar Mahamantra is not merely a Jain chant but a universal message for all humanity, guiding the path of non-violence, compassion, knowledge, and self-purification. He expressed hope that its divine energy would promote peace, harmony, and welfare across the world.
Earlier, the Chief Minister flagged off promotional chariots for Vishwa Navkar Mahamantra Day 2.0. The event was attended by the president and vice president of Jain International Trade Organization, office-bearers from various chapters, and a large number of women and young entrepreneurs.
