Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida Attends Second Day of Subhadra Shakti Leadership Conference
Bhubaneswar, March 2026: Hon’ble Deputy Chief Minister, Smt. Pravati Parida graced the second day of the Subhadra Shakti Leadership Conference, organised by the Mission Shakti Department at Konark.
On the occasion of International Women’s Day, addressing the gathering, the Deputy Chief Minister stated that women today are no longer confined to their homes, they have become a powerful force driving social and economic transformation. Through Mission Shakti, lakhs of women in Odisha are becoming self-reliant and creating new milestones. She emphasised that the Subhadra Shakti Leadership Conference will further strengthen women’s leadership, enabling them to transform from Self-Help Groups (SHGs) to Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) and play a leading role in strengthening rural economy and community development. She expressed that increased leadership and participation of women will accelerate the overall development of the state. Smt. Parida also reiterated her vision of creating more Lakhpati and Maha Lakhpati Didis in the coming years, who will establish new enterprises and become financially independent.
The programme witnessed the participation of 90 Presidents and Secretaries of various Women Federations from the districts of Bargarh, Rayagada, Sambalpur, and Koraput. During the conference, they were provided training on leadership development, skill enhancement, start-up opportunities, and financial empowerment.
The event was attended by Dr. Monica Priyadarshini, Director, Mission Shakti Department, along with senior officials of the department. This initiative by the Mission Shakti Department is expected to play a significant role in developing leadership qualities among women and empowering them to emerge as confident agents of social change.
