Women Honoured for Leadership and Achievements on International Women’s Day
Jaipur, March 2026: Industry and Commerce Minister Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore said that the women of Rajasthan represent resilience, results, and revolution, and their leadership is shaping the direction of a New India. He emphasized that women are making significant contributions to the country’s economy and development.
He was addressing a Women’s Felicitation Ceremony and Discussion organized on the occasion of International Women’s Day at the Constitution Club of Rajasthan in Jaipur.
Rathore said that the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao Yojana, launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has increased social awareness and brought visible positive changes at the grassroots level. Since 2014, a new momentum has been created in the country toward women’s empowerment, and today women are performing excellently in every sector.
Positive Impact of Government Schemes
The minister said that various schemes of the Rajasthan government have brought positive changes in the lives of women. To encourage women entrepreneurship, the Industry Department has introduced provisions such as additional subsidies and incentives to help women start and expand businesses.
He added that women play a major role in India’s economy, and under the vision of Developed India 2047, small businesses run by women in villages and towns will contribute significantly to national growth. Women are also performing strongly in the industrial sector.
Rathore encouraged successful women entrepreneurs to motivate more women and connect them with central and state government schemes so that more people can benefit from them.
Awards and Financial Support for Women
During the event, Rathore honoured 11 women who had excelled in fields such as entrepreneurship, sports, and social work with Excellence Awards. Women employees of the department were also recognized for their outstanding work.
He also presented an appointment letter for the post of Industry Promotion Officer to the daughter of a martyr.
Under various government schemes:
- 2 women received loan cheques
- 9 women were given approval letters for projects
- 2 women received land allotment letters from Rajasthan State Industrial Development and Investment Corporation (RIICO)
A live game was also organized during the program, where winners received an e-cycle and a sports bicycle as prizes.
Earlier, under the One District One Product Policy, Rathore flagged off the “Kaushal Vahini – Skill on Wheels” initiative of Indian Council for Entrepreneurship and Skill Development to begin a two-day training program for artisans.
Women Entrepreneurs Share Success Stories
Ten women entrepreneurs who benefited from various schemes of the Industry and Commerce Department shared their experiences during the program. They said the schemes had encouraged them greatly by providing financial assistance and support to showcase their products in national and international markets.
One of them, Mrs. Dema Mittal of Ranjka Garments, said that the Rajasthan Export Promotion Policy had helped her business grow. With government support, she was able to exhibit her products in the United States, and she has now started receiving export orders from there.
Women Officials Lead the Event
To make the celebration more meaningful on Women’s Day, the entire responsibility of organizing the event was given to women officers of the department. From planning and registration to stage management, the program was managed completely by women officials.
Managing Director of RIICO Shivangi Swarnkar delivered the welcome address, while Manisha Arora, Commissioner of Rajasthan Foundation, delivered the vote of thanks.
The event was attended by Additional Chief Secretary Shikhar Agarwal, Commissioner Suresh Ola, senior officials of the Industry and Commerce Department, and several women entrepreneurs including Maya Thakur of Rajasthali.
Leaders from business and industry organizations also addressed the gathering, including Dr. Rimmi Shekhawat of FICCI FLO, Shraddha Agarwal of CII Indian Women Network, Chandni Jagga of Rajasthan Chamber of Commerce and Industry Young Women Entrepreneurs, and Anju Singh, National Secretary of Laghu Udyog Bharati.
