Lucknow, March 2026 : Taking a major step towards providing quality education with modern facilities to students in rural and remote areas of the state, the process of constructing Chief Minister Model Composite Schools has begun in several districts. In these schools, education from pre-primary to class 12 will be provided within a single campus, enabling students to receive a better academic environment and education supported by modern resources.
The establishment of these schools will give a new direction to a comprehensive, modern, and inclusive education system in the state and will provide a strong foundation for a better future for children in rural areas.
Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Basic Education, Sandeep Singh, said that government orders have been issued for the construction of Chief Minister model composite schools in several districts including Malihabad in Lucknow, Bahraich, Chandauli, Mirzapur, Lakhimpur Kheri, Fatehpur, Ghaziabad, Kanpur Dehat, Varanasi, Kaushambi, Farrukhabad, Amethi, and Unnao. For these projects, an estimated cost of Rs 23 to Rs 28 crore has been approved for each school, and the first installment of funds has also been released to the executing agencies.
Minister Sandeep Singh said that the objective of the Chief Minister model composite schools is to provide students with an integrated and modern education system. These schools will develop smart classrooms, science laboratories, libraries, sports facilities, and other necessary educational resources. This will especially provide students in rural and remote areas the opportunity to receive quality education similar to that in cities.
He said that the construction of these schools will not only improve the quality of education but will also provide better educational opportunities for students within their own areas, giving them a strong foundation for higher studies and competitive examinations.
The minister instructed officials to complete all projects within the prescribed timeline while maintaining high quality so that students can benefit from these modern facilities as soon as possible.
The construction of Chief Minister model composite schools will be carried out through designated executing agencies such as Uttar Pradesh Projects Corporation Limited, Uttar Pradesh Public Works Department, Consultancy and Design Services (U.P. Jal Nigam), Uttar Pradesh Social Welfare Construction Corporation, and the Housing and Development Council. Special attention will be given on maintaining quality standards and timelines during the construction work.
