Lucknow, March 2026 : With the auspicious beginning of Chaitra Navratri, a unique blend of faith, creativity, and social awareness was seen in schools across Uttar Pradesh. On the first day of the sixth phase of ‘Mission Shakti’, extensive poster-making and discussions based on the nine forms of Navdurga were organized in all primary, upper primary, composite schools, and Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalayas (KGBV) across the state.

Under this special campaign, 2,33,000 children prepared attractive posters based on the nine forms of Navdurga including Shailputri, Brahmacharini, Chandraghanta, Kushmanda, Skandamata, Katyayani, Kalaratri, Mahagauri, and Siddhidatri. These artistic expressions effectively portrayed emotions of power, courage, compassion, and self-reliance. The colorful displays in school campuses not only gave wings to children’s creativity but also made it clear that the new generation sees feminine power not just as something to be worshipped, but as a source of inspiration for change and leadership.

Basic Education Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Sandeep Singh, stated that through ‘Mission Shakti’, the state government is continuously committed to making girls empowered, safe, and self-reliant. Introducing children to the true essence of feminine power through the forms of Navdurga is an innovative initiative. This program strengthens cultural awareness and also helps in developing confidence and leadership skills among girls.

On this occasion, the qualities associated with each form of Navdurga widely based on courage, discipline, service, knowledge, and leadership were explained in detail and linked to the personality development of girls. This strengthened students’ belief that they too can adopt these qualities and bring positive change in society.

Meaningful discussions were held on important topics such as girls’ education, safety, self-respect, and rights. Teachers explained that ‘Mission Shakti’ is not just a government initiative, but a broader social movement aimed at establishing gender equality.

The central focus of the entire event was the empowerment of the girls. During the program, girls expressed their thoughts fearlessly, gave voice to their dreams, and conveyed the message that they are no longer confined by limitations, but are ready to establish their identity in every field. This campaign extended beyond school premises to parents and the local community, creating an atmosphere of positive awareness in society.

Director General of School Education, Uttar Pradesh, Monica Rani, said that activities based on the nine forms of Navdurga under ‘Mission Shakti’ are a strong medium to develop confidence, inner strength, and leadership among girls. On this occasion, students are being connected with Indian cultural values and inspired to become empowered and self-reliant.
