Singapore Airlines Suspends Dubai Flights Till April 30 Amid West Asia Tensions

Singapore, March 2026 : Singapore Airlines has announced the cancellation of two of its services operating between Singapore and Dubai until April 30, citing the evolving geopolitical situation in West Asia. The move comes as ongoing regional tensions continue to disrupt global aviation operations and raise safety concerns.

In an advisory issued on Friday, the airline confirmed that flight SQ494 from Singapore to Dubai and return service SQ495 from Dubai to Singapore will remain suspended throughout the period. The airline attributed the decision to the uncertain security environment in the Middle East, which has impacted several international flight routes.

“Due to the geopolitical situation in the Middle East, the following Singapore Airlines flights will be cancelled until April 30, 2026,” the airline stated, adding that the safety of passengers and crew remains its top priority.

The carrier also cautioned that the situation remains fluid, and additional flights could be affected depending on how developments unfold in the region. Passengers have been advised to regularly check the airline’s flight status updates for the latest information regarding their travel plans.

To minimise inconvenience, Singapore Airlines has put in place support measures for affected customers. Passengers whose flights have been cancelled will be offered the option of being rebooked on alternative flights, subject to availability. Alternatively, they can opt for a full refund covering the unused portion of their tickets.

The airline clarified that customers who booked their tickets directly through its official channels can request refunds via its online assistance request system. Meanwhile, those who made bookings through travel agents or partner airlines have been advised to contact their respective booking providers for further assistance.

In addition, Singapore Airlines has urged travellers to ensure that their contact details are updated through the “Manage Booking” feature on its website. This will enable passengers to receive timely notifications about any changes to their flight schedules. Customers are also encouraged to subscribe to mobile alerts to stay informed about real-time developments.

The airline acknowledged the inconvenience caused by the cancellations and extended an apology to affected passengers. It also requested their understanding and cooperation during this period of disruption.

The suspension of these services highlights the broader impact of geopolitical instability in West Asia on global travel networks. Airlines across the world have been closely monitoring the situation, with many adjusting routes or cancelling flights to ensure operational safety.

As uncertainty persists, travellers planning journeys through the region are advised to remain vigilant, stay updated on official advisories, and consider flexible travel arrangements.
