Transport Dept set to recruit ARTOs and MVIs to enhance road safety in UP.
Lucknow : Under the guidance and direction of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, the Transport Department on Saturday approved the recruitment of ARTOs (Assistant Regional Transport Officers) and MVIs (Motor Vehicle Inspectors) to effectively tackle road safety challenges.
In the first phase, the department has sanctioned 50 ARTO Road Safety and 351 MVI posts.
It’s important to note that road safety is a top priority for the Yogi government, with the state taking every possible measure to ensure the safety of all citizens. In line with this commitment, on Saturday, Additional Chief Secretary of the Department L Venkateshwar Lu, Transport Commissioner Chandra Bhushan Singh, and Road Safety Incharge Pushpasen Satyarthi delivered a departmental presentation.
Expressing gratitude to CM Yogi for approving the recruitment of ARTOs and MVIs for road safety, Minister of State for Transport (Independent Charge) Daya Shankar Singh stated, “This is a significant milestone for the Transport Department. It will accelerate our efforts in enhancing road safety.”
The Transport Minister also emphasized that, given the critical importance of road safety, the department plans to appoint ARTO Road Safety officers in the remaining districts in the next phase.
The initiative aims not only to ensure the safety of all citizens across the state but also to raise widespread awareness about road safety. “The government’s goal is to educate people on a larger scale to achieve a substantial reduction in road accidents across the state,” he added.
