‘MaxCity VoW Literature Festival’ Scheduled for March 28–29
Mumbai, March 2026 : The second edition of the MaxCity VoW Literature Festival will be held on March 28 and 29 at the National Gallery of Modern Art and Homi Bhabha State University in Mumbai. The festival, themed “Between War and Peace: One World, Many Words,” will bring together authors, scholars, policymakers, and experts from strategy and administration.
This distinctive literary festival was founded by Prabal Das Gupta, Ika Banerjee, Srikant Kesnuru, and Mangesh Sawant through MaxCity, and is being organized in collaboration with Dr. Sanjeev Chopra, head of the Valley of Words Foundation. The primary aim of the festival is to highlight the importance of public discourse on contemporary issues amid an unstable global environment. This year’s concept, “One World, Many Words,” emphasizes the role of ideas in shaping both the present and the future.
Dr. Sanjeev Chopra said, “‘One World, Many Words’ reflects the reality of today. Understanding current geopolitical and domestic developments requires multiple perspectives. This festival seeks to explore the world through diverse ways of thinking.”
Over the two-day festival, discussions will be held on a variety of books. Authors Mangesh Sawant, Ravi Mishra, and Chaitanya Giri will interact with audiences about their recent publications.
Srikant Kesnuru added, “The MaxCity VoW LitFest provides a platform to discuss topics that shape our lives.”
In the context of India’s growing global role amid shifting geopolitical dynamics, the festival will foster reflection on India’s options and its position in the international order. Prabal Das Gupta noted, “In today’s conflict-ridden world, books, ideas, dialogue, and discussion help us understand the causes and consequences of conflicts, while also offering an opportunity to appreciate diverse perspectives.”
The festival also provides a platform for emerging writers to showcase their work. It aims to cultivate a love for reading among younger generations and encourage critical thinking and analytical discourse.
