Khelo India Tribal Games 2026: Wrestling Competition Concludes Successfully in Surguja

Athletes displayed their skilled techniques and strategies to win medals

Himachal Pradesh in men’s category and Assam in women’s category emerged overall champions

Raipur, March 2026 : Under the Khelo India Tribal Games 2026 being held in Chhattisgarh, the wrestling competition that had been going on for the last four days concluded successfully today at Gandhi Stadium in Ambikapur, district headquarters of Surguja. Throughout the event, intense competition was witnessed among athletes from various states. The athletes displayed their skilled techniques and strategies and won medals.

On the concluding occasion, the team championship results were announced. In the men’s category, Himachal Pradesh emerged as the overall champion, while Jammu and Kashmir became first runner-up, and Maharashtra and Jharkhand were second runner-up. In the women’s category, Assam emerged as the overall champion, while Jharkhand was first runner-up, and Karnataka and Telangana were second runner-up.

Today’s medal winners

In today’s competition, in the women’s senior 57 kg weight category, Telangana’s Nagalakshmi won gold, Karnataka’s Shalina Siddi won silver, and Karnataka’s Amulya Bhimsen Kundargi won bronze. In the women’s senior 68 kg weight category, Karnataka’s Princita Pedru Fernandes Siddi won gold, Mizoram’s Elizabeth Rohluppul won silver, and Gujarat’s Chavda Leelaben Maiyabhai and Rajasthan’s Balkesh Kumari Meena won bronze medals.

In the men’s senior freestyle 57 kg weight category, Odisha’s Ajit Bhuyan won gold, Maharashtra’s Paras Subhash Bidkar won silver, while Maharashtra’s Vicky Ramchandra Uike and Himachal Pradesh’s Abdul Khan won bronze. In the men’s Greco-Roman senior 77 kg category, Jharkhand’s Abhishek Munda won gold, Himachal Pradesh’s Arfan won silver, and Telangana’s Jadav Charan and Jammu and Kashmir’s Injamam won bronze medals.

In the men’s freestyle senior 86 kg category, Himachal Pradesh’s Sumit Thakur won gold, Jammu and Kashmir’s Bahadur Khan won silver, and Himachal Pradesh’s Shabbir Khan won bronze. In the men’s Greco-Roman senior 130 kg category, Madhya Pradesh’s Shiva Bhalavi won gold, Jammu and Kashmir’s Diler Khan won silver, and Telangana’s Karra Raju won bronze.
