Khelo India Tribal Games 2026: Chhattisgarh Dominates Mallakhamb Competition
Raipur, April 2026: The Mallakhamb competition held under the Khelo India Tribal Games 2026 concluded on a grand note at Gandhi Stadium in Ambikapur, Surguja district, on Friday. The event witnessed impressive performances, with athletes showcasing remarkable strength, balance, and agility across various formats, including rope Mallakhamb, pole Mallakhamb, hanging Mallakhamb, and pyramid Mallakhamb.
The audience enthusiastically applauded the participants, encouraging them throughout the competition. Following the events, winners were announced, with the Chhattisgarh girls’ team emerging as champions after delivering an outstanding performance. Medals will be formally awarded during the medal ceremony scheduled for Saturday.

Chhattisgarh Shines in Both Categories
A total of 14 states participated in the Mallakhamb competition, each demonstrating strong competitive spirit. However, Chhattisgarh stood out by securing gold medals in both the boys’ and girls’ categories.
In the boys’ category, Chhattisgarh clinched the gold medal with a score of 124.35 points. Maharashtra secured the silver medal with 118.35 points, while Jharkhand finished with the bronze medal, scoring 86.95 points.
Similarly, in the girls’ category, Chhattisgarh continued its dominance by winning gold with 80.15 points. Maharashtra claimed silver with 69.90 points, and Jharkhand took bronze with 49.80 points.
The successful scheme not only highlighted the traditional Indian sport of Mallakhamb but also reflected the growing talent and enthusiasm among tribal athletes across the country.
