Lord Shri Ram Resides in Every Particle of Chhattisgarh: Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai
Raipur, April 2026: Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai said that Lord Shri Ram resides in every particle of Chhattisgarh’s soil, highlighting the deep spiritual and cultural connection of the state with the revered deity.
The Chief Minister attended a grand musical Shri Ram Katha Mahotsav held at Saliyatoli in Kunkuri, Jashpur district. His wife, Kaushalya Sai, was also present on the occasion.
Addressing the gathering, the Chief Minister spoke about the ideal life and character of Lord Shri Ram and urged people to imbibe his values in their own lives.
Paying respects to the revered saint Chinmayanand Bapuji, who was presiding over the discourse, Sai said that the sacred land of Kunkuri had been blessed by the event. He added that the stadium at Saliyatoli had transformed into a divine abode of Lord Ram, with chants of “Jai Shri Ram” creating a deeply devotional atmosphere.
The Chief Minister emphasised that Chhattisgarh shares a profound connection with Lord Ram. He said that the state is the sacred land of Mata Kaushalya and is considered the maternal home of Lord Ram, where he is worshipped in every household as a beloved nephew. He noted that Lord Ram spent a significant portion of his 14-year exile in the Dandakaranya region and the forests of Chhattisgarh, which is why his presence is felt in every part of the state. Sacred sites such as Sita Rasoi continue to stand as symbols of this rich spiritual heritage.
Sai said it is a matter of great fortune that the present generation is witnessing the re-consecration of Lord Ram in Ayodhya. He stated that the consecration ceremony has brought pride to the entire nation on the global stage, made possible through the resolve of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
He further noted that the Prime Minister had pledged to facilitate darshan of Ram Lalla for devotees from Chhattisgarh, considered Lord Ram’s maternal home. In line with this vision, the state government launched the Shri Ramlala Darshan Yojana, through which around 42,000 devotees have so far visited Ayodhya for दर्शन.
The Chief Minister also highlighted the unique tradition of Ram devotion in the Janjgir region, where members of the Ramnami community inscribe “Ram-Ram” on their bodies as a symbol of deep faith.
He mentioned that for the consecration ceremony in Ayodhya, Chhattisgarh sent 300 metric tonnes of aromatic rice and over 100 tonnes of green vegetables as offerings, symbolising devotion and the culmination of a 500-year-long wait for the establishment of Lord Ram. A team of doctors and medical staff from the state also contributed significantly by providing healthcare services to devotees in Ayodhya.
Sai added that the state government has implemented a Freedom of Religion law to curb illegal religious conversions, with strict provisions to ensure effective control.
Several dignitaries, including municipal vice-chairman Yash Pratap Singh Judev, Sanyogita Singh Judev, Sunil Gupta, Upendra Yadav, Sunil Agrawal, Collector Rohit Vyas, and Senior Superintendent of Police Dr Lal Umed Singh, were present along with a large number of devotees.
The Shri Ram Katha, which began on April 2, will continue till April 8, with devotees from distant areas attending the event. The festival has created a deeply spiritual atmosphere across Kunkuri and nearby regions, with people listening to the discourse with devotion and resolving to follow the ideals of Lord Shri Ram in their lives.
