10th Anniversary of Bikaner House Management Society Celebrated with ‘Bikaner House: Ten Years Together’ Event
Jaipur, April 2026: The Bikaner House Management Society (BHMS) marked its 10th anniversary with a grand celebration titled “Bikaner House: Ten Years Together” held at the Bikaner House परिसर in New Delhi on Monday.
Formed a decade ago by the state government, BHMS was established with the aim of transforming Bikaner House into a vibrant hub showcasing Rajasthani art, culture, and heritage, and promoting them to audiences across India and abroad. Over the years, Bikaner House has evolved into a dynamic cultural center through the efforts of the society.
On the occasion, a special presentation highlighting the major initiatives and programmes undertaken by BHMS over the past ten years was showcased. The event began with an in-house archival exhibition titled “Through the Years: Celebrating a Decade of Art, Culture and Heritage.” This was followed by the launch of the book “Bikaner House: A Decade of Resonance” and a cultural evening featuring lively folk performances.
The programme was inaugurated by Rajasthan Chief Secretary and Chief Resident Commissioner V. Srinivas in the presence of other distinguished guests, with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp and the unveiling of the book.
The exhibition beautifully depicted the grandeur, history, architecture, and cultural legacy of Bikaner House, presenting them as an interconnected narrative. It was conceptualized not merely as an institutional achievement but as an ongoing dialogue between continuity and change.
As part of the anniversary celebrations, a student painting competition was also organized, along with a photography exhibition titled “Soul of Rajasthan,” curated by Gallery Wonderwall.
Notably, Bikaner House was originally built in 1929 at the historic Princes Park as the residence of the rulers of the Bikaner princely state. Over the years, it has transformed from a royal residence into a vibrant public and cultural interaction space. Today, it stands as a “Gateway of Rajasthan,” emerging as a key cultural center promoting Rajasthani art and heritage through various programmes on both national and international platforms.
