BJP Announces 16 Candidates for Jammu and Kashmir Assembly Elections
The BJP has announced its list of 16 candidates for the upcoming Jammu and Kashmir assembly elections. The party has selected Syed Showkat Gayoor Andrabi for Pampore, Javed Ahmad Qadri for Shopian, Arshid Bhat for Rajpora, Advocate Syed Wazahat for Anantnag, Sushri Shagun Parihar for Kishtwar, Gajay Singh Rana for Doda, and Choudhary Roshan Hussain Gujjar for Kokernag. Additionally, Rakesh Thakur will contest from Ramban, Salim Bhat from Banihal, and Shakti Raj Parihar from Doda West.
Previously, the BJP had released a list of 44 candidates for these elections, but it was later withdrawn. The assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir are scheduled to take place in three phases starting on the 18th of next month. The counting of votes will be held on the 4th of October for the 90-member Assembly constituencies
