Adani Group to Add Rs 2 Lakh Crore in Assets This Year, Gautam Adani Tells Employees on Labour Day
New Delhi, May 2026 : Gautam Adani, Chairman of the Adani Group, on Friday announced that the conglomerate is set to add another Rs 2 lakh crore worth of assets within the current year, reflecting the rapid expansion underway across its diverse businesses.
Addressing over four lakh employees on the occasion of International Workers’ Day, Adani highlighted the scale and pace of the group’s growth. He noted that while it took the company 35 years to build assets worth approximately Rs 2 lakh crore, it is now poised to match that figure in just a single year.
Emphasising the Group’s commitment to national development, Adani said the organisation would continue contributing to India’s vision of becoming a developed nation by 2047, a goal outlined by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Reflecting on the impact of key infrastructure projects, Adani stated that each initiative undertaken by the Group goes beyond mere execution and plays a role in shaping the country’s future. He cited the transformation of Mundra into India’s largest port as a prime example, noting how it has turned a once barren region into a major hub of trade and global connectivity.
He also pointed to the development of the Vizhinjam Port in Kerala, which is expected to strengthen India’s position in global maritime trade and establish the country as a key transshipment hub. In Gujarat’s Kutch region, the Group is developing one of the world’s largest green energy projects at Khavda, aimed at supporting a cleaner and more sustainable future.
Adani further highlighted the upcoming Navi Mumbai International Airport, describing it as a world-class facility that will significantly enhance India’s aviation capacity, boost connectivity, and create new economic opportunities for millions.
Among other major initiatives, he underlined the significance of the 594-km Ganga Expressway project, recently inaugurated by the Prime Minister. The expressway is expected to dramatically reduce travel time between Meerut and Prayagraj from 10–11 hours to just 5–6 hours, benefiting over 8 crore people and improving regional connectivity.
Adani also spoke about the ambitious redevelopment of Dharavi in Mumbai, describing it as one of the most complex urban transformation projects in the world. He emphasised that the initiative goes beyond infrastructure, aiming to improve living conditions and create a more inclusive urban environment.
Reiterating the broader vision behind these developments, Adani said that each project represents a meaningful contribution to nation-building. He acknowledged the role of employees in driving the Group’s growth and credited their dedication as a key factor behind its achievements.
“All these projects undertaken by the Adani Group represent our humble contribution to the progress of the nation,” he said, underscoring the organisation’s long-term commitment to India’s development journey.
