Indore to host BRICS Agriculture Ministers’ Meet from June 9–13: Chief Minister Dr. Yadav

Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav, while addressing the Cabinet ahead of the meeting, announced that Indore will host the BRICS Agriculture Ministers’ Conference from June 9 to 13. He described it as a matter of pride that such a significant international event is being organised in Madhya Pradesh. The Chief Minister noted that the BRICS grouping, comprising major emerging economies, is being further strengthened under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. The objective of BRICS is to enhance economic cooperation, trade and geopolitical dialogue among member nations. Ministers from 21 countries, including Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa, Uganda, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Malaysia, Nigeria, Thailand, the United Arab Emirates, Colombia and Indonesia, will participate. Senior agricultural scientists and policymakers will also attend. He said that the five-day conference will be organised with full dignity and grandeur.

Push for Solar Energy Projects in UlBs on PPP Mode

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav informed that a mega solar power plant has been inaugurated at Jalud in Khargone district. The 60 MW plant, established at a cost of ₹271 crore under the PPP model, has been developed by Indore Municipal Corporation under a Green Bond scheme. He stated that under this public participation model, individuals could purchase up to 10 bonds of ₹1 lakh each, offering an annual return of 8.27%. The project cost is expected to be recovered within eight years, while the plant will operate for 20 years. It is projected to generate savings of ₹35 to ₹60 crore for the Indore Municipal Corporation. The Chief Minister directed ministers to promote similar solar energy projects in their respective districts through urban bodies and institutions.

Ensure District Development Committee Meetings by May 12

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav stated that the state government has completed two and a half years in office. A departmental review will be conducted from May 8 to 10, during which ministers and departmental officials will present achievements, innovations, future plans, and challenges related to their departments and districts. He also directed that meetings of District Development Committees be mandatorily conducted in all districts before May 12. Additionally, non-official appointees in various boards and corporations will be oriented, and a state-level one-day orientation programme will also be organised.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav informed that an Agriculture Karmayogi Orientation Workshop was held in Bhopal on April 30 to enhance farmers’ empowerment and income. A total of 1,627 selected officers and employees from 16 agriculture-related departments participated, representing all 55 districts, development blocks, clusters, and gram panchayats.

Regarding wheat procurement, he stated that 1.9 million farmers have been registered. So far, 4.1 million metric tonnes of wheat have been procured, with payments amounting to ₹6,520 crore. A total of 1.47 million slot bookings have been made, and 777,000 farmers have sold their produce.

Prime Minister Praises Vikramaditya Vedic Clock

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav also shared that Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi observed the Vikramaditya Vedic Clock at the Kashi Vishwanath Temple in Varanasi. The Prime Minister appreciated its digital display of the Indian Panchang, auspicious timings and planetary positions, describing it as a remarkable blend of modern technology and ancient knowledge. The Vikramaditya Vedic Clock was installed in 2024 at the Kalganana Centre in Ujjain, integrating all aspects of Vedic time calculation.

‘Shram Star’ Rating to Ensure Worker Welfare

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav highlighted the introduction of a unique ‘Shram Star Rating’ initiative in the state, aimed at ensuring the health and safety of workers in industrial establishments. Industries demonstrating excellence will be assessed and encouraged through this rating system. So far, 554 factories have voluntarily adopted the system. He emphasised that priority should be given to purchasing products and services from establishments that actively ensure workers’ welfare and rights.

Recent Election Results Noteworthy in Political History

Referring to recent assembly election results in states such as West Bengal, Kerala, Assam, Tamil Nadu, and Puducherry, the Chief Minister stated that these outcomes will be recorded in India’s political history. He credited Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Shri Amit Shah for the success.

He also remarked that West Bengal, the land of great personalities like Chaitanya Mahaprabhu, Swami Vivekananda, Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore, Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose and Dr. Syama Prasad Mukherjee, has witnessed a historic victory resulting from the dedication and sacrifices of party workers.
