Mumbai, May 2026 : Artificial Intelligence (AI) is the most powerful driver of transformation for the future, and it must be adopted across all sectors of life, said Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis. He expressed confidence that initiatives like “Mumbai Tech Week” (MTW) will help bring AI opportunities closer to young people and establish Maharashtra as a leading hub of AI innovation in the country.

The Chief Minister announced “Mumbai Tech Week (MTW) 2026” today at Sahyadri Guest House. The event, organised by the Tech Entrepreneurs Association of Mumbai (TEAM) in collaboration with the Government of Maharashtra, IDFC Bank, and Meta, will be held on May 29 and 30 at the Jio World Convention Centre. Under the theme “India: AI in Action,” the event will showcase real-world applications of AI across sectors and will feature participation from global technology leaders such as Meta, Anthropic, OpenAI, Google Cloud, and Nesa. The official logo of Mumbai Tech Week was also unveiled.

Fadnavis said the government is actively using AI across various departments, making administration more efficient, responsive, and result-oriented. He noted that the government is playing the role of a key stakeholder in this transformation and suggested that experiential demonstrations of AI-driven governance initiatives should be showcased at the event to reach a wider audience.

Appreciating the expanding TEAM ecosystem, the Chief Minister said it is encouraging that more young entrepreneurs and technology professionals are joining the initiative. He reiterated that the Maharashtra government will continue to support innovation and industry growth in the AI sector. “Let us make Mumbai Tech Week bigger and more impactful than last year and connect Maharashtra’s youth with global opportunities in artificial intelligence,” he said.

Harsh Jain, Co-Chair of TEAM and Governing Council Member, thanked Chief Minister Fadnavis for his support and belief in the vision of Mumbai Tech Week. He said MTW 2026 is designed not just for discussions but to demonstrate how AI is transforming industries and creating real economic opportunities, making Mumbai the ideal host city. He added that with the Maharashtra government as a partner, the event marks a historic opportunity for the AI-driven economy of Mumbai and the state.

Jain further said that along with AI showcases, MTW 2026 will include the AI Excellence Awards 2026, an early-stage startup showcase, and an AI-powered job fair. The job fair will feature participation from over 25 companies, offering more than 250 job opportunities to over 30,000 candidates. The event will also include masterclasses and “Stories Unplugged” sessions. In the run-up to the main event, 14 satellite events will be organised across Mumbai to ensure wider ecosystem participation.
