Andhra Pradesh Targets One Crore Entrepreneurs Under ‘One Family-One Entrepreneur’ Initiative, Says Chandrababu Naidu
Vijayawada, May 2026 : Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Monday announced that the state government aims to promote one crore entrepreneurs under its ambitious ‘One Family-One Entrepreneur’ initiative, describing the MSME sector as the backbone of economic growth and employment generation.
The Chief Minister virtually laid the foundation stones for 38 MSME parks across the state before addressing the ‘One Family-One Entrepreneur’ MSME Growth Summit 2026. He said the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises sector plays a crucial role in the country’s economic progress and urged youth to adopt innovative thinking and entrepreneurial skills to build successful businesses.
Naidu stated that the Andhra Pradesh government is giving the highest priority to youth and women empowerment and sees the MSME sector as a strong platform to transform innovative ideas into successful enterprises. He pointed out that MSMEs have the unique ability to convert small ideas into large industries and noted that the sector is the second-largest employment generator in India after agriculture.
Highlighting the government’s efforts to strengthen the industrial ecosystem, the Chief Minister said incentives worth Rs 558 crore had already been released to support MSMEs in the state. He added that the government had introduced dedicated MSME and private industrial park policies to accelerate industrialisation and make resources more accessible for entrepreneurs.
According to Naidu, the MSME Growth Summit brought startups, industrial units, financial institutions, banks, and experts together on a common platform to create stronger industrial partnerships and promote innovation-driven growth. Stressing the importance of entrepreneurship-led development, he called for the establishment of large-scale industrial units under the ‘One Family-One Entrepreneur’ programme.
The Chief Minister also announced that incentives would be extended to private industrial parks, citing Sri City as a successful industrial model that has attracted investments and generated employment opportunities.
Focusing on women’s economic empowerment, Naidu said women’s self-help groups currently hold a corpus of Rs 28,000 crore. He announced plans to transform five lakh women from DWCRA groups into entrepreneurs during the current year by providing them with financial and institutional support.
He further stated that startups in Andhra Pradesh would be encouraged through the Ratan Tata Innovation Hub and set an ambitious target of creating 100 unicorn startups in the state. Emphasising that the future belongs to the knowledge economy, the Chief Minister urged youth, industries, and educational institutions to embrace emerging technologies and innovation-based opportunities.
Reiterating the government’s vision of “Village to Global Market,” Naidu advocated the concept of a circular economy, where industrial waste generated by one industry could serve as raw material for another industry. He said this approach would help create a sustainable and strong MSME ecosystem while reducing environmental impact.
The Chief Minister informed the summit that banks had already extended loans worth more than Rs 2.11 lakh crore to MSMEs. He added that central government schemes such as PM Mudra, Stand-Up India, and Vishwakarma were playing a major role in supporting aspiring entrepreneurs across sectors.
Naidu also announced that Andhra Pradesh had launched a special action plan under its Credit Guarantee Scheme to facilitate loans worth Rs 5,000 crore and was simultaneously working to revive struggling MSME units across the state.
In a major boost for aspiring entrepreneurs, the Chief Minister unveiled a special programme under which loans of up to Rs 1 crore would be provided to encourage new business ventures. He further revealed that the government had signed agreements with several global technology companies to strengthen the state’s industrial and innovation ecosystem.
Stressing the importance of future-ready industries, Naidu said MSMEs must emerge as key players in strategic sectors such as space, defence, and aerospace. Referring to upcoming advanced technology projects in Amaravati, he urged youth and educational institutions to actively leverage opportunities in quantum technologies and other next-generation sectors.
