Mother of Ketan Agarwal Seeks PM Modi’s Intervention for Speedy Justice

Pune, July 2026 : In an emotional appeal seeking justice for her slain son, Rakhi Agarwal, the mother of Ketan Agarwal, who was allegedly murdered near Pune’s Lohagad Fort by his fiancée Siya Goyal and her alleged lover Chetan Chaudhary, has written to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, requesting his intervention to ensure a speedy investigation and timely justice.

Her appeal comes days after Ketan’s father, Vishal Agarwal, had approached President Droupadi Murmu, urging a fast-tracked probe into the sensational murder case that has attracted nationwide attention.

In a heartfelt email sent to the Prime Minister on Monday, Rakhi Agarwal poured out the grief that has engulfed her family since the tragic death of her son, making it clear that she was not seeking any special treatment but only justice under the law.

“I never imagined that I would have to write to you seeking justice for my own son,” she wrote. “Like every mother, I dreamt of watching Ketan build a beautiful life, get married, and grow old with us. Instead, I had to perform the last rites of my child.”

Calling the loss unbearable, she said nothing could match the agony of a mother losing her son.

“There cannot be a greater pain for a mother than this. My son was brutally murdered, and with him, I have lost my entire world forever. Every corner of our home reminds me of him. His room, his clothes, his photographs, and the silence that has replaced his laughter remind me every day that he will never return.”

The tragedy, she said, was compounded by another devastating loss. Ketan’s grandfather, unable to cope with the shock of his grandson’s death, passed away shortly afterward.

“He loved Ketan dearly and could not bear the grief of losing his grandson. Within days, our family lost two generations,” she wrote, describing the emotional collapse that followed the incident.

Despite her immense sorrow, Rakhi Agarwal stressed that her appeal was not driven by anger or a desire for special consideration.

“Modi Ji, I am only a mother asking for justice,” she said.

She appealed to the Prime Minister to ensure that those responsible for her son’s death receive the strictest punishment under the law.

“Every day without justice deepens our pain. Ketan cannot return, but those responsible for taking his life must receive the strictest punishment. I only want my son to get justice.”

Urging that the case should not fade into routine legal proceedings, she wrote: “With folded hands, I humbly request you to kindly ensure that my son’s case receives the attention it deserves and that justice is delivered without unnecessary delay. Please do not let Ketan become just another case file. He was someone’s son, someone’s grandson, someone’s brother—but to me, he was my entire world.”

The grieving mother said she continues to speak to her son’s photograph every night.

“Every night I look at his photograph and tell him, ‘Beta, your mother is still fighting for you.’ I only pray that one day I can tell him, ‘My child, you have finally received justice.'”

Along with the email, Rakhi Agarwal sent an emotional video message addressed to the Prime Minister and the people of India. Holding a framed photograph of Ketan, she broke down repeatedly while recalling memories of her son.

“Ketan… today the whole country knows your name. Look at his smile… look at his eyes. It feels as though he is still standing before us. His smile makes it seem like he is still here. What was his fault? What was my fault? Why was my son killed? Even today, it feels as though he is asking me, ‘What was my mistake?'”

She spoke of the family’s shattered future, saying festivals that once brought joy had now become painful reminders of their loss.

“Raksha Bandhan is next month. Whom will his sister tie a rakhi to? What answer will I give my daughter? My entire family has been destroyed by this tragedy.”

She also recalled how excited Ketan had been about beginning a new chapter in his life.

“I wanted to see my son get married. He was excited about his future. He had dreams and had planned his life.”

Remembering their final moments together, Rakhi said she still feels her son calling out to her.

“‘Mummy… Mummy…’ Even today I feel like he is calling me. The day he left home, he spoke to me with so much love. We all sat together and had a meal. A month has passed, but I still feel he will walk through the door and return home.”

She said the family had cried so much that they had become emotionally numb.

“We have cried so much that it feels as though even our tears have turned to stone. Everything in our family has been destroyed. My father-in-law also could not survive this grief.”

Concluding the video with folded hands, Rakhi Agarwal appealed directly to Prime Minister Modi and citizens across the country to support her fight for justice.

“Please… Justice for Ketan. Please help my son get justice.”

The murder of Ketan Agarwal has sparked widespread public outrage, with investigators alleging that his fiancée, Siya Goyal, along with her alleged lover, Chetan Chaudhary, conspired to kill him near Lohagad Fort in Pune district. The investigation remains underway as the victim’s family continues to seek swift legal action against those accused.

The emotional appeals by both parents have intensified calls for a speedy trial and timely justice, with the family maintaining that while Ketan cannot be brought back, ensuring accountability for those responsible would at least provide them some measure of closure.
