Comprehensive Development Plan for Thane District to be Prepared Through ‘Thane Development Council-2024’

Thane : The ‘Thane Development Council-2024’ aims to identify the key challenges facing the district and implement solutions for its comprehensive growth. This initiative focuses on strategically using available resources for the holistic development of Thane. Key metropolitan cities under its purview include Mumbai, Thane, Kalyan-Dombivli, Navi Mumbai, Ulhasnagar, Bhiwandi-Nizampur, Vasai-Virar, Mira-Bhainder, and Panvel, as well as municipal councils in Ambernath, Kulgaon-Badlapur, Matheran, Karjat, Khopoli, Pen, Uran, Alibaug, and Palghar.

According to Niti Aayog’s report on transforming the Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR) into a global financial center, key focus areas include Housing for All, Information Technology, Industry 4.0, Environment, and Employment Generation. These five major sectors will guide the comprehensive development of Thane district. In line with the instructions of Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, and in collaboration with the District Magistrate’s Office, Thane, and Mitra, the ‘Thane Development Conference-2024’ will be held on September 21, 2024, from 10 AM to 3 PM at Dr. Kashinath Ghanekar Auditorium. This event will be part of the larger ‘MMR Development Conference-2024’ and chaired by Chief Minister Eknath Shinde.

State Chief Secretary Smt. Sujata Saunik, ‘Mitra’ Chief Executive Officer Praveen Singh Pardeshi, Thane District Collector Ashok Shingare, Thane Municipal Commissioner Saurabh Rao, and Thane Zilla Parishad Chief Executive Officer Rohan Ghuge, have urged journalists, entrepreneurs, and citizens to attend the conference in large numbers to contribute to this crucial developmental initiative.
