Repair of Damaged Gravel Roads in Rural Areas Commenced

Jaipur : The repair work on damaged gravel roads in rural areas of Jaipur has commenced. District Program Coordinator and District Collector Dr. Jitendra Kumar Soni has instructed officials to identify damaged gravel roads by October 30 and ensure quality repair work is carried out in accordance with regulations.

The current monsoon season has led to erosion and damage to village infrastructure, particularly gravel roads, due to water flow and flooding in rural areas of Jaipur district. This has caused daily inconveniences for local residents, especially where rural roads have been damaged.

Dr. Jitendra Kumar Soni has issued a directive to mark damaged gravel roads constructed under the Mahatma Gandhi NREGA scheme and initiate a repair campaign. Officials and staff across all Gram Panchayats have been instructed to prioritize quality repairs through the Public Works Department, Panchayat Committees, and other departments by October 30, 2024. Additionally, all sub-divisional officers have been asked to visit each Gram Panchayat under their jurisdiction weekly to ensure compliance with the instructions.
