Medical Education Secretary Inspects Women’s Hospital — Plans Maintenance of Hospital Buildings
Jaipur : Systematic maintenance work will be undertaken to improve the condition of the buildings and medical facilities in hospitals affiliated with the region’s medical colleges. Medical Education Secretary Shri Ambarish Kumar issued directives to officials regarding this during his inspection of the Women’s Hospital at Sanganeri Gate, which is affiliated with Sawai Mansingh Medical College, on Tuesday.
During the inspection, the Medical Education Secretary noted that while the health facilities at the women’s hospital were satisfactory, the condition of the building needed improvement. He instructed officials to prepare early estimates for various maintenance works at the hospital. He emphasized that maintenance should be conducted in an integrated manner through a five-year plan. Additionally, he recommended changing the plumbing methods to eliminate the frequent leaks in the toilets. He urged the team to keep the hospital building clean and aesthetically pleasing while ensuring high-quality maintenance work. He also directed the prompt completion of the under-construction IPD tower within the hospital premises.
Shri Ambarish Kumar spent about two and a half hours at the hospital, discussing improvements with officials. He conducted thorough inspections of various units, including the OPD, IPD, labor room, NICU, blood bank, mother milk bank, free drug distribution center, general ward, and radiology department. He expressed satisfaction with the hospital’s medical arrangements and emphasized the need to make health facilities more patient-friendly, ensuring that patients face no difficulties in receiving treatment. He also instructed that regular maintenance of inspection machines be carried out using e-tool software.
Emphasis on Technological Innovation: Queue Management System to be Implemented Soon
While speaking to the media, the Medical Education Secretary announced that a queue management system will soon be implemented in hospitals affiliated with medical colleges to minimize waiting times for patients. He stated that arrangements will be made through technological innovations to facilitate easy appointment scheduling for patients coming from different districts, ensuring they can meet with their doctors on the scheduled day and time. He reiterated that priority would be given to enhancing technological innovation within the medical systems.
Commissioner of Medical Education Mr. Iqbal Khan provided updates on the progress of various subjects and construction works related to the women’s hospital. Superintendent of Women’s Hospital Dr. Asha Verma mentioned that the civil work for the IPD tower is expected to be completed by February 2025. She also informed the Secretary about the hospital’s various requirements.
