Our government is committed to the development of tribal areas – Chief Minister Shri Vishnudev Sai

Chief Minister Shri Vishnudev Sai today held a meeting of the Sarguja Area Tribal Development Authority in Mayali of Jashpur district. In the presence of the members of the authority and the secretaries of major departments, the Chief Minister reviewed the works approved under the authority and directed that the works which are not started should be cancelled and the works in progress should be completed soon.

The Chief Minister appealed to the members of the authority to discuss one-to-one with each other about the problems and demands related to their areas and submit proposals. He directed to resolve the problems mentioned by the members in the meeting through the concerned department.

On the demand of MLA Mrs. Renuka Singh, the Chief Minister announced to increase the budget amount of Sarguja Area Tribal Development Authority from 50 crores to 75 crores. He also announced to give an amount of 10 crores to promote tourism in Mayali.

Addressing the meeting of the Authority, Chief Minister Shri Sai said that since the time of former Chief Minister Dr. Raman Singh, the state is being developed in all aspects. He formed an authority for development in the tribal area and provided resources. At present, there are five authorities in Chhattisgarh. Our government wants development from Bastar to Surguja area. For this, if there is no money in the budget, necessary work will be done through the authority. The Government of India and the State Government want development of all sections of the state including Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Other Backward Classes. The pace of development will be further increased by arranging resources in these areas through the authority. He said that the Prime Minister of the country, Shri Narendra Modi, has made a provision of budget for development in special backward tribal dominated and tribal areas through PM Janman and Dharti Aba Gram Utkarsh Yojana. These schemes of his will speed up development work in all areas of the state.

Chief Minister Shri Sai further said that his government has focused on the development of tribal areas in the budget. Our government will work with commitment for the development of Bastar and Surguja division area. The Chief Minister praised the preparations made by the district administration for the meeting of the Authority in Mayali of Jashpur district and said that along with the reserves of mineral resources, there is availability of forest and forest produce in Jashpur district. Villagers and farmers can be taken forward by adding value to the forest produce and important products here. Chief Minister Shri Sai, while talking about the promotion of tourism here behind holding the meeting of the Authority in his home district and Mayali, appealed to the senior officials attending the meeting from the capital Raipur to see the products here, use them and promote them as well as promote the important tourist places of Jashpur district.  

In the meeting, Chief Minister Shri Sai talked about resolving the problems pointed out by the members of the Authority. He talked about examining the demand for starting a sugarcane procurement centre in Lundra-Batouli area, working towards providing electricity to areas without electricity, taking necessary steps towards preventing loss of life due to elephants, and considering increasing the amount of damage. On the complaint of people receiving high electricity bills including those with single light connection, the Chief Minister directed Energy Secretary Shri Rohit Yadav to examine and resolve the complaints related to electricity bills. He directed the Secretary of the Food Department to resolve the complaints related to shortage of ration at some places in Jashpur district.

On this occasion, the Chief Minister inaugurated the divisional office of Water Resources Division in Kunkuri by pressing the remote.

Deputy Chief Minister Shri Arun Saw, who was present in the meeting, said that the development of Surguja and Bastar region is a matter of top priority of our government. By attending today’s meeting under the Authority, the Chief Minister has reiterated the commitment and resolve to develop this region. Under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Vishnudev Sai, our government will work to bring change in the lives of the people of Surguja division through the Authority and make their lives easier. The Deputy Chief Minister told in the meeting that he has given instructions to complete important works soon by holding a meeting with his subordinate Public Health Engineering Department, Public Works Department and Urban Administration Development Department. Funds have been released to make the city clean and beautiful and for other works. Orders have been given to repair the roads under PWD and instructions have been given to complete the work by the month of November by working at a fast pace. He said that work is being done towards providing tap and water to every house by reviewing the works under Jal Jeevan Mission. Work is being done towards fulfilling the aspirations of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. Action will be taken against the concerned if found guilty in this scheme. He said that for the development of Chhattisgarh, our government is working in the direction of “We have built it, we will develop it”.

Vice President of the Authority and Pathalgaon MLA Smt. Gomti Sai said that there is immense potential for tourism in Jashpur district and said that it is a good fortune that the Authority meeting is being held in Mayali. She said that the initiation of development works from the North Region Surguja Division through the Authority will take Chhattisgarh towards development.

Agriculture Development and Farmer Welfare and Biotechnology Minister Shri Ramvichar Netam said that the purpose of holding the Authority meeting in Mayali is to identify and resolve the problems of this region and promote tourism. He said that the state can be developed by starting development works by making villages as units. Giving information about the important products of Surguja Division, he emphasized on promoting them. Minister Shri Netam appealed to the members of the Authority to also inform about the problems of the ashrams and hostels in their area, so that those problems can be solved.

In the meeting, Industry, Commerce and Labor Minister Shri Lakhan Lal Devangan thanked the Chief Minister for organizing the first meeting of the Authority and said that through the meeting, important works would be easily done in the Surguja division.

In the meeting, Health Minister Mr Shyam Bihari Jaiswal, Revenue Minister Mr Tank Ram Verma, Women and Child Development Minister Mrs Laxmi Rajwade, Raigarh MP Mr Radheshyam Rathiya, Surguja MP Mr Chintamani Maharaj, Jashpur MLA Mrs Raimuni Bhagat, Lundra MLA Mr Pramod Minj, Pratappur MLA Mrs Shakuntala Singh Port, Ambikapur MLA Mr Rajesh Agrawal, Bharatpur Sohat MLA Mrs Renuka Singh, Mr Bhaiya Lal Rajwada and district panchayat presidents informed about problems related to their areas and demanded their resolution. The Chief Minister has given instructions to resolve all the demands.
