Mumbai : The Election Commission of India has announced the date for the assembly general elections. Voting will take place on November 20. The model code of conduct has been implemented in the state since October 15, 2024. During this election period, if there are violations of the code of conduct, ordinary voters and citizens can now directly file complaints with the Election Commission. For this purpose, the Election Commission of India has developed the C-Vigil Citizen App. Complaints filed on this app receive initial action within 100 minutes.

Information is provided to election candidates, the administration, and political parties about what to do and what not to do during the code of conduct period. However, sometimes violations occur. Filing complaints has become easier than ever. To report violations of the code of conduct or provide information, the Election Commission of India has developed the C-Vigil app. Through this mobile app, voters can now directly lodge complaints with the Commission. Immediate action is taken as soon as a complaint is received on the C-Vigil app, and the complainant’s identity is kept confidential.

The C-Vigil app is available for download on Android and iOS devices. To report a violation, users only need to open the app, select the type of violation, and provide details of the incident, including location, time, and photographs or videos. Users will be able to track the progress of their complaints.

How to Use

Go to the Google Play Store on Android mobiles or the App Store on iPhones and search for C-Vigil (cVIGIL). Then download the app. After that, open the app and create an account by entering your mobile number, address, and constituency. Select the violation you wish to report and enter the details of the incident along with location, time, and photographs or videos. Finally, submit your complaint.

By using this application, citizens can register complaints about political misconduct within minutes without having to visit the Election Officer’s office. The C-Vigil app connects aware citizens with the district control room, election officers, and surveillance teams, creating a rapid and accurate action, monitoring, and reporting system.

Only live location-based photos and videos are taken through the app for accuracy, enabling the surveillance teams to take timely action.

Immediate Action Taken

As soon as a complaint is filed on this app, the local election machinery will investigate your complaint and take appropriate action.
