Yogi government prioritizes inclusivity and dialogue for a successful Mahakumbh

Prayagraj : Recognizing the Maha Kumbh as a vital platform for India’s spiritual, cultural, social, and ideological diversity, the Yogi government is focusing on reviving the ancient tradition of inclusivity and dialogue through the event. The focus is on creating a Maha Kumbh that encourages collaborative solutions by engaging all stakeholders.

Notably, UNESCO has recognized the Kumbh as an “Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.”

During his visit to Prayagraj on October 6, the Chief Minister led a dialogue with key groups, including the All India Akhara Parishad, Khak Chowk Vyavastha Samiti, and members of Prayagwal Sabha, at the Ganga Pandal in Parade Ground. This dialogue series continues through ongoing efforts by the Kumbh Mela administration.

To make the Mahakumbh 2025 more impactful, the Yogi government is undertaking numerous innovative initiatives. This includes hosting the Kumbh Conclave and the Maha Kumbh Tourist Conclave, with continuous outreach efforts by the Tourism Department to engage Akharas, saints, and pilgrimage priests.

Additional Kumbh Mela Officer Vivek Chaturvedi affirms that the administration constantly communicates with all Akharas, saints, pilgrimage priests, and relevant institutions on organizational aspects to incorporate their insights.

SSP Kumbh, Rajesh Dwivedi, echoes this commitment, noting the historic importance of Akharas in Kumbh events. Through this coordinated approach, the government addresses suggestions and concerns, ensuring the event’s success and honoring its tradition of unity.

MahaKumbh 2025 in Prayagraj brings high expectations from devotees and tourists from India and abroad. In response, the Yogi government aims to ensure the active involvement of both government and non-governmental bodies in administrative planning, execution, and overall efficiency.

Previously, only governmental perspectives were considered for organizing the Maha Kumbh, but now the government is taking a broader, more inclusive approach. Through this effort, the ancient Kumbh tradition of dialogue and introspection is being revived, breathing new life into a practice that had gradually faded.

Mahant Jamuna Puri, Secretary of Shri Panchayati Akhara Mahanirvani, shares that Kumbh Mela administration officials are in regular contact to streamline Akhara arrangements in the Kumbh area. Officials are personally visiting Akharas to gather insights and refine the organizational structure in the process.

Mahant Prem Giri, President of Shri Panch Dashnam Akhara, highlights that officials are actively consulting Akharas on key arrangements—from entry processions to city accommodations for saints. These efforts ensure that the voices of saints are respected, and their traditional practices are seamlessly integrated into this grand event.
