CM Shri Bhupendra Patel’s Significant Decision Exemplifying ‘Minimum Government, Maximum Governance’

Gandhinagar : Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel has taken a significant step to accelerate the approval process for land conversion proposals, from Land Cultivation to Agricultural and Agricultural to Non-Agricultural purposes, at the district and state levels for bona fide purchasers.

Under the existing state regulations, bona fide purchasers are required to obtain state-level approval for land valuations exceeding ₹50 lakh. In response to the increasing number of applications and to minimize delays in the approval process, Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel has opted to decentralize authority, ensuring quicker processing at various stages. This move reflects the principle of “Minimum Government, Maximum Governance” and revises the delegation of authority for approving premium levies based on land valuation, streamlining the approval process for greater efficiency.

As per the Revenue Department’s resolution dated 17/03/2017, the authority to approve the premium levy on land valuations up to ₹5 crore for bona fide purchasers has been delegated to the District Collector, revising the previous delegation of powers for premium levies. This citizen-centric decision by Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel will streamline the process, ensuring faster disposal of applications from bona fide purchasers and accelerating the overall development process.
