Relief Distribution in Mamit for Refugees
Mamit :The Mizoram Government, through its Home Department, initiated relief distribution for Myanmar refugees and internally displaced persons (IDPs) across Mamit District starting yesterday.
The distribution was conducted under the supervision of Pu Lalrinchhana, District Organizer of DM&R, along with the Village Level Committee on Myanmar Refugees/IDPs. The relief supplies were distributed from the Mamit District Office, prioritizing areas with a higher number of refugees, particularly the villages of Dapchhuah and Nghalchawm. Initial distribution began in Dapchhuah yesterday, followed by the distribution for Myanmar refugees in Nghalchawm today.
A total of 373 bags (equivalent to 184.04 quintals) of relief supplies were allocated, with 31.5 kilograms designated per person. The distribution aims to ensure that Myanmar refugees and IDPs residing in various villages across Mamit District receive adequate support throughout this year.
