PM Modi inaugurates the Saraswati Koop Corridor and worships Maa Saraswati

Mahakumbh Nagar : Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited Sangam Ghat in Tirthraj Prayagraj on Friday, where he offered prayers at the Akshay Vat, Bade Hanuman Mandir, and Saraswati Koop. He also inspected and inaugurated the corridors connected to these sacred sites.

At Saraswati Koop, the Prime Minister performed the ‘abhishek’ of Maa Saraswati’s idol using water and cow milk, followed by the offering of lamps, honey, and flowers. He then inaugurated the Saraswati Corridor, a project inspired by his vision and efficiently executed under the Yogi government.

Prayagraj, renowned as the confluence of the holy rivers Ganga, Yamuna, and the invisible Saraswati, holds immense spiritual and cultural significance. While the distinct meeting of the white Ganga and dark-blue Yamuna is visible, the Saraswati river is believed to invisibly complete this divine Triveni Sangam.

The Saraswati Koop, considered a manifestation of the river, is deeply revered in Sanatan culture. Prime Minister Modi’s efforts aim to ensure the uninterrupted flow of clean water in all three Mokshadayani rivers, making them accessible to devotees during the Mahakumbh.

For decades, access to the Saraswati Koop, located within the Mughal-era fort, was restricted. It was first made available to devotees during the 2019 Kumbh, organized by the Yogi government. On Friday, the Prime Minister inaugurated the Saraswati Koop Corridor, enabling pilgrims to visit the sacred site through the newly constructed pathway.

The Saraswati Koop is believed to inspire purity and wisdom in life. Like the Akshay Vat, this well was historically inaccessible due to its location within the fort and the establishment of the Ordnance Depot during British rule. With the opening of the corridor, millions of devotees attending Mahakumbh 2025 will now have the opportunity to experience the spiritual blessings of this revered site.
