Preserve Traditional Values While Passing Them to Future Generations – CM Devendra Fadnavis Launch of the Book Banaaye Jeevan Pranvaan
Nagpur : The eternal flow of the Ganga, persisting for thousands of years, symbolizes timeless purity and renewal. Like the Ganga’s stream, Sanatan values blend the ancient with the new, offering a unique synergy of heritage and progression. Mukul Kanitkar, through his work, has been reviving these cultural values and traditions, reflected in his book Banaaye Jeevan Pranvaan, said Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis during its second edition’s release.
The event, held at the Suresh Bhat Auditorium, was graced by the 72nd Peetadheesh of Sringeri Sharada Peeth, Shri Shri Abhinav Shankar Bharati Mahaswamiji, author Mukul Kanitkar, and publisher Devendra Pawar, alongside other dignitaries.
Speaking on the occasion, CM Fadnavis highlighted India’s rich cultural heritage, rooted in the Sindhu civilization that dates back 9,000–10,000 years. He noted that ancient India excelled in urban planning and architecture, showcasing advanced systems even absent in the West at the time. He lamented the British attempts to undermine India’s traditions and cultural wealth, which once commanded over 30% of global trade and a GDP share of 28-29%. Fadnavis emphasized that India’s values and Sanatan lifestyle have been the foundation of this prosperity.
He urged the need to uphold and adapt these eternal values to modern contexts while ensuring they remain relevant for future generations. India’s heritage is imbued with scientific rationality and humanity, teaching the world not to dominate but to inspire universal growth. In this regard, he stressed that Mukul Kanitkar’s book must reach and resonate with the younger generation, reaffirming the responsibility of everyone to propagate these values.
Shri Abhinav Shankar Bharati Mahaswamiji, in his blessing, reflected on the deep connection of India’s traditions to reason and sensitivity. He noted that even those unfamiliar with scriptures display behaviors rooted in this cultured legacy, citing everyday actions like washing hands and feet before meals as examples of ancient scientific wisdom.
Publisher Devendra Pawar, in his introduction, described India’s smallest traditions as profound experiences imbued with knowledge and energy, highlighting the need to cherish this inherited wealth. Mukul Kanitkar concluded by emphasizing the immeasurable value of India’s cultural heritage, urging collective efforts to preserve it for future generations.
