Yog and Khajuraho are Integral Pillars of Indian Culture: Chief Minister Dr. Yadav
Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has said that continuous efforts are underway to build a healthy, aware and spiritually enriched society by linking the Indian tradition of yoga to cultural values. He stated that both yoga and Khajuraho have remained integral pillars of Indian culture for centuries. He said,“Our government is taking all necessary steps to promote yoga. The AYUSH Department is currently running the campaign ‘Har Ghar Yog – Har Vyakti Nirog’ to take yoga to every household across the state.”
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav was addressing the “Yoga Mahotsav 2026” through a video message on Wednesday at the UNESCO-declared World Heritage Site Khajuraho on the occasion of the 25-day countdown to International Yoga Day 2026.
In his video message, Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that yoga today is not merely a form of exercise, but has evolved into a way of life that embodies the spirit of ‘One Earth, One Health’. He said that the Madhya Pradesh Government is working with the vision of ‘Har Ghar Yog, Har Vyakti Nirog’ to make yoga and AYUSH-based healthcare accessible to every citizen. Through the AYUSH Department, successful campaigns are being conducted via Arogya Mandirs, Yoga Wellness Centres and various public awareness activities to make yoga an integral part of daily life.
Expressing happiness, Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that lakhs of people across the country are connecting with the countdown events being organised ahead of International Yoga Day. He noted that the younger generation is also embracing yoga wholeheartedly. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav added, “We are continuously moving forward towards building a healthy, aware and spiritually enriched society by connecting yoga with cultural values.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that with collective cooperation and participation, the state is striving to make yoga an integral part of every citizen’s life. He said that this event, organised by the Union Ministry of AYUSH, has become another important milestone in the nationwide preparations for International Yoga Day 2026. The programme also symbolises the commitment of both the Central and State Governments towards promoting holistic health and well-being through yoga.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav congratulated and extended his best wishes to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, officials of the Union and State AYUSH Ministries, and the district administration of Chhatarpur for successfully organising this special event in Khajuraho.
