Alipore Zoological Garden Celebrates International Tiger Day.

Kolkata; July 2026: Today (Wednesday – 29th July 2026), The Zoological Garden, Alipore, has commemorated the International Tiger Day at the NIC Building within its premises. The programme commenced with a welcome address by the Director, Zoological Garden, Alipore. It was followed by a keynote address on tiger conservation by Mr. Nilanjan Mallick, IFS (Retd.), Dr. Pralay Mondal, Assistant Director, ARD and Veterinary Officer, Zoological Garden, Alipore, delivered an informative lecture on tiger conservation and health management in captivity.

The programme also included an interactive session, cultural skit presentations by students of Howrah Modern School, Santoshpur, Kolkata, and Saini International School, Howrah, and a keeper’s talk focusing on daily tiger management practices in captivity. A total of approximately 150 participants attended the programme. The event concluded with a valedictory session, underscoring the significance of sustained conservation efforts and collective responsibility towards the protection of tigers.
