“Fit India Movement is an essential part of Prime Minister Modi’s vision for fitness and health: Chief Minister Dr. Yadav”

Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav stated that the government is committed to the holistic development of sports and athletes. He emphasized that the state is advancing with true sportsmanship. Under the Fit India Movement, Madhya Pradesh’s first Fit India Club has been launched today. He. mentioned that this initiative is an essential part of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision for fitness and health. The creation of Fit India Clubs will spread positively across the state, reaching even the remotest villages, making both children and the elderly more aware of their health. CM Dr. Yadav added that sports have now been included as a subject in the curriculum, and students can pursue careers in this field as lecturers, assistant professors, or trainers. The government has enhanced the respect and recognition for sports and athletes in the state.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav made these remarks while addressing the first phase inauguration and the foundation-laying ceremony of the second phase of the Fit India Club at Gautam Nagar. The event was also attended by Union Minister of Labour, Employment, Youth Affairs, and Sports, Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya.

Commendable Establishment of Fit India Clubs in a Short Time

CM Dr. Yadav praised the establishment of the Fit India Club, stating that connecting today’s youth with the glorious past of physical prowess and skill is essential for their physical and mental fitness. The swift setup of the Fit India Club is highly commendable. The Sports Department and the Bhopal Municipal Corporation deserve congratulations for this achievement. He also mentioned that the “Khelo-Badho” campaign provides an opportunity for athletes and a platform to hone their talent. The government’s main objective is to create awareness about sports among the youth and provide them with better opportunities through modern infrastructure. The Fit India Movement will inspire youth to adopt a healthy and active lifestyle.

Union Minister Dr. Mandaviya: Our Youth are the Hope of the Nation

Union Sports Minister Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya emphasized that the youth of the country are the hope and expectation of the nation, and efforts are being made to keep them fit. He said that the development of sports infrastructure is underway across the country, and a new National Sports Policy will soon be introduced. This policy will focus on the development of sports, sports infrastructure, athletes, and trainers with a comprehensive training program. Dr. Mandaviya added that the goal is to host the Olympic Games in India by 2036, and to achieve this, the country must develop its sports infrastructure and rank among the top ten countries globally. The government plans to provide all kinds of opportunities to players aged 9-15, and after their entry, they will receive essential training and focus on their nutrition. The government will nurture each athlete’s talent and enhance their skills in their respective sports.

Dr. Mandaviya further stated that a healthy citizen leads to a healthy society, and a healthy society builds a prosperous nation. Those who engage in sports are focused and progress further. The Ministry is also working towards integrating traditional sports with modern development. The “Khelo-Badho” campaign is an innovative initiative in this direction. He concluded by reiterating that the department is continuously working for the development of sports, and for a developed India, it is crucial to stay fit and energetic.

Launch of the “Khelo-Badho” Campaign

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav and Union Sports Minister Dr. Mandaviya jointly inaugurated the “Khelo-Badho” campaign by pressing a virtual button. A short film based on sports was also showcased during the event, highlighting the formation of Fit India Clubs, their objectives, and future plans. During the event, 435 athletes from the state were presented with sports kits by the Sports Department for their participation in the upcoming National Games in Uttarakhand.

State Sports and Youth Welfare Minister Shri Vishwas Kailash Sarang emphasized the objectives of the Fit India Club and noted that the state is moving forward to provide new direction to sports. He mentioned that the first Fit India Club of the state was inaugurated today, which will be developed in four phases. The first phase was inaugurated, and the second phase’s foundation stone was also laid today. The government is committed to providing all necessary support and encouragement for the establishment of Fit India Clubs and sports infrastructure in all four phases, preparing athletes for national and international competitions.

Inauguration and Foundation Laying of Seven Sports Infrastructure Projects

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav and Union Minister Dr. Mandaviya virtually inaugurated and laid the foundation stones for various sports infrastructure projects across different districts of Madhya Pradesh. These projects aim to promote sports activities in the state and provide a platform for athletes to enhance their skills. The inaugurated projects include indoor halls in Nagod (Satna), Budhni (Sehore), and Timarni (Harda), an outdoor stadium in Narayangarh (Mandsaur), and the foundation stone for a hostel building in Shivpuri.

Upcoming plans under the Fit India Club include various sports events and fitness campaigns. At the event’s start, Chief Minister Dr. Yadav cut the ribbon to inaugurate the Fit India Club and later toured the premises, interacting with athletes and sports enthusiasts. The Chief Minister and Union Minister also encouraged the athletes by walking on the treadmill. Additional Chief Secretary, Sports and Youth Welfare, Shri Manu Srivastava, expressed gratitude. The event was attended by Mayor Mrs. Malti Rai, elected representatives, Shri Ravindra Yati, Shri Rahul Kothari, Additional Chief Secretary Sports and Youth Welfare Shri Manu Srivastava, Director of Sports Shri Ravi Kumar Gupta, along with a large number of sports enthusiasts.
