CM Shri Bhupendra Patel’s Approach to Ensuring ‘Ease of Transportation’ for Citizens
₹190 Crore Approved for Resurfacing and Widening 29 Roads Connecting Industrial and Quarry Areas
Gandhinagar : Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel has adopted a strategic approach to enhance ‘ease of transportation’ for both citizens and industries through road infrastructure improvement across the state. For the same, the CM has approved an allocation of ₹467.50 crore for 11 projects to widen existing bridges and structures that are currently narrower than the state’s four-lane roads. This initiative aims to ensure safer, more efficient transportation routes, facilitating faster and smoother travel by strengthening and expanding crucial roads and bridges.
Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel had earlier approved ₹245.30 crore for the widening of narrow bridges and structures on 20 roads. He has now allocated ₹467.50 crore to the Roads and Housing Department for the widening of 11 more roads. This new allocation will address bottleneck issues at 11 critical locations, ensuring safer and more convenient routes for the people. In addition, the CM has made another significant decision by approving ₹189.90 crore for the strengthening, widening, and conversion of 29 roads connecting industrial and quarry areas from unpaved to paved roads. This allocation includes ₹8.80 crore for the conversion of 7.45 km of unpaved roads across five routes, ₹47.30 crore for strengthening 30.68 km of roads across eight routes, and ₹133.70 crore for widening 88.50 km of roads across 16 routes.
This strategic decision will streamline the transportation of quarry materials and provide safer, more accessible roads for rural residents, enhancing infrastructure in these areas. In the future, improved facilities for heavy vehicle traffic from the industrial and mining sectors, along with more efficient logistics, will significantly boost the development of these regions. To date, Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel has approved ₹1,646.34 crore for 73 projects in this financial year, focused on the essential improvement of these vital roads.
