Bhopal’s newly constructed flyover to be named after Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar : Chief Minister Dr. Yadav
Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav today inaugurated a flyover in Bhopal costing Rs 154 crore, which will significantly accelerate the city’s development. This three-kilometer-long flyover, connecting Gayatri Mandir to Ganesh Mandir, has been named after the great patriot and constitution maker, Baba Saheb Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar. Dr. Yadav said that Bhopal, the capital of Madhya Pradesh, has transformed from a small village in 1956 to one of the most beautiful capitals in the country. Under the current government, the city’s development will continue at a rapid pace. The inauguration coincided with the birth anniversary of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose. The flyover will connect the Netaji Subhash Chandra Setu and Veer Savarkar Setu, improving connectivity. Dr. Yadav congratulated the Public Works Minister and his department for overcoming challenges during the construction of this flyover. Additionally, Dr. Yadav announced the construction of another flyover at Bavadiya-Kalan costing Rs 180 crore, and mentioned that the Bairagarh Bridge will also be dedicated soon.
Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav was addressing the gathering after inaugurating the 3 km flyover in Bhopal on Thursday. He said the flyover will help ease traffic routes to Obaidullaganj, Narmadapuram, Betul, Khandwa, and Jabalpur. Praising Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose with whose birth anniversary the event coincided, Dr. Yadav said Netaji’s life is an inspiration for all of us. He highlighted the leader’s achievements, including passing the ICS examination in 1923 and winning the Indian National Congress Presidential election with the highest number of votes, choosing patriotism over servitude to the British.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav highlighted Baba Saheb Ambedkar’s pivotal role in advocating equality and shaping the Constitution of India, noting his opposition to Article 370. He announced the development of ‘Panch Teerth’ pilgrimage sites to honour Ambedkar’s legacy, encompassing his birthplace, initiation place, karmabhoomi, education site, and the location of his demise.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav praised the contributions of great warrior women like Devi Ahilyabai, Rani Durgavati, and Rani Lakshmibai, emphasizing their role in enhancing the nation’s pride. He announced the forthcoming implementation of a women empowerment policy and highlighted the government’s mission focused on the welfare of women, youth, farmers, and the poor. Dr. Yadav also shared that significant efforts are being made to attract investments to the state, with industrialists expressing interest during a recent investors’ conference in Pune. He noted that the natural beauty of regions like Bhopal has impressed potential investors.
Public Works Minister Shri Rakesh Singh said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Dr. Yadav, development in the state is touching new heights. He said that the flyover will bring about a great improvement in the traffic management of the city and provide relief to the commuters. Minister Shri Singh said that modern infrastructure is the backbone of any state with the moving ahead at a rapid pace in this direction. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav has always given priority to development works. When it came to the inauguration of the flyover, he stressed on dedicating it to the public immediately. This is proof of his sensitivity and his commitment to the public. He informed that elevated corridors are being constructed in the metros of the state at a cost of about Rs 3000 crore. Along with this, the construction of 361 bridges is also in progress. Roads are being expanded to remote areas of Madhya Pradesh. Four-lane roads are being constructed in place of two-lane roads and six-lane roads will replace the four lane roads. Along with this, the construction of expressways is also going on at a fast pace. Minister Shri Singh said that recently along with senior officials I visited various states and studied the development works and now those models will be implemented in Madhya Pradesh.
MP Shri V.D. Sharma said that Chief Minister Dr. Yadav is leading the way from a Viksit Madhya Pradesh to a Swarnim Madhya Pradesh. The state team is working with full determination to speed up development in the state. Society benefits from infrastructural development like flyovers and also gives new impetus to development.
Huzur MLA Shri Rameshwar Sharma said that new dimensions of development are being added under the leadership of Chief Minister Dr. Yadav. The newly constructed flyover will play an important role in improving the traffic system of Bhopal city. The flyover will give a day-like feel even at night. Bhopal Mayor Smt.
