Tamil Nadu CM M.K. Stalin Inaugurates Projects Worth ₹882 Crore in Villupuram

Villupuram : Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin presided over a government function in Villupuram district, where he inaugurated 231 completed projects worth ₹882 crore, laid the foundation for 116 new projects, and distributed welfare assistance worth ₹323.71 crore to 35,003 beneficiaries.

At the event, CM Stalin formally opened 231 completed projects in Villupuram district, undertaken at a cost of ₹424.98 crore, and laid the foundation stone for 116 new projects valued at ₹133.30 crore. Additionally, ₹323.71 crore worth of welfare benefits were distributed to 35,003 beneficiaries.

Key Infrastructure and Development Initiatives:

The Chief Minister inaugurated various infrastructure projects across Villupuram district, including:

🔹 New Government Office Building: Constructed in Thindivanam for ₹4.71 crore, under the Revenue and Disaster Management Department.

🔹 Bridges and Overpasses:

  • A ₹4.88 crore bridge connecting the Moolakiyur Railway Crossing to Karalai Panchayat under the Rural Development and Panchayat Department.
  • A ₹1.66 crore bridge at Sakkodunkal-Veerapozhuram Road.
  • A ₹6.65 crore bridge at Rangasaratipalayam, Sankampattu Panchayat.
  • A ₹6.13 crore elevated causeway over the Pondai River in Pidaripet-Anilady Road.
  • A ₹3.86 crore high-level bridge in Nar-Nallokam Road.

🔹 Rural Development Projects:

  • Infrastructure development in multiple villages, including Thenkanthanoor, Anangur, Sorappur, Veerachalam, Thirumangalam, Sanachelur, Ayyangovilpattu, Thiruppachanur, and Manur Panchayat.
  • New schools and residential areas developed in Sembi, Thenur, Matthur-Thirukkalukundram, Narasingapuram, and Naramangalam.

These projects are expected to enhance connectivity, rural infrastructure, and public welfare in the Villupuram district, significantly improving the quality of life for local residents.

The projects covered a wide range of developments, including roads, bridges, schools, and healthcare facilities in various localities within the district. Notable works include the construction of new bridges, roads, community halls, and healthcare centers in different villages and towns across Villupuram.

The government also provided welfare schemes for improving living conditions, such as housing for economically disadvantaged sections, educational infrastructure, and healthcare facilities, ensuring better access to services for rural and urban populations alike.

This large-scale initiative is part of the Tamil Nadu government’s ongoing efforts to improve infrastructure and welfare in the state, particularly in rural and underserved regions.
