Commendable Performance by Metro RPF, Envisioning A Heckle Free Journey.

Metro Railway authorities always give highest importance to safety and security of passengers in the Metro premises, and always keep strict vigil to tackle any untoward incident at platforms, station premises as well as inside the trains for the benefit of the commuters.

For ensuring this, Railway Protection Force (RPF) has been playing a pivotal role. From January to December 2024, RPF detected 646 cases of Nuisance, Spitting, Smoking and littering etc., along-with RPF has also detected 11 cases of Mobile lifting, pick-pocketing with arrest of 14 offenders, who have been handed over to Local P.S. and prosecuted under the provisions of IPC & BNS consecutively.

02 (Two) children were rescued and handed over to concerned Local P.S. / NGOs with proper acknowledgement in 2024, which according to the authorities is a grave concern particularly taking into consideration the impeccable operational phenomenon demonstrating the eradication of lacunas.

During the above period, necessary assistances to 169 ailing passengers were provided during their journey in Metro. RPF received total 4813 calls on Security Helpline and Women Security Helpline numbers and assistances were provided to the passengers by RPF staff in co-ordination with other departments as per nature of the grievances.

During the above period, in 188 cases, RPF personnel also retrieved left behind Mobile Phones, Laptops and Money Purse / Bags containing liquid cash and valuable documents in Metro Train / and within the Premises worth of Rs. 38,67,919/- (Rupees Thirty Eight Lakhs Sixty Seven Thousand Nine Hundred Nineteen Only) approx. After proper verification, these items were handed over to the actual owners.
