Groundbreaking Ceremony for New Building of Theater Academy by Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde
Pune : A groundbreaking ceremony for the new building being constructed for artists at the Theater Academy, located within the premises of the Maharashtrian Mandal, was conducted by Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde. The funds for this project have been allocated from the Chief Minister’s Charitable Donations Fund.
Present at the event were Employment Guarantee Scheme Minister Bharat Gogawale, Member of Parliament Shrirang Barne, Member of Legislative Assembly Vijay Shivtare, Siddharth Shirole, Theater Academy President Prasad Purandare, and officials from the Theater Academy and Maharashtrian Mandal. Raj Thackeray was also a prominent presence at the event.
Deputy Chief Minister Shinde announced that a budget of ₹3 crore has been approved for the construction of this building. The new building will include accommodations for artists, a practice hall, and a multipurpose hall. The Maharashtrian Mandal has been in operation for 100 years, and the Theater Academy has been active for 50 years.
The Theater Academy in Mukundnagar is an institution blessed and guided by Babasaheb Purandare. The Maharashtrian Mandal has been playing an essential role in helping young people prepare for police and military recruitment. The government fully supports the work of these institutions, said Shinde.
During the event, Deputy Chief Minister Shinde also toured the Theater Academy.
