PM Modi Takes a Dig at Congress After Delhi Election Results: ‘Double Hat-Trick of Zero’
New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched a sharp attack on the Congress following its poor performance in the Delhi elections, stating that the party has scored a “double hat-trick of zero” in the national capital. Congress has failed to win a single seat in the last three Lok Sabha and Assembly elections in Delhi, marking a significant decline in its political influence.

Addressing BJP workers at the party headquarters after the BJP’s victory, PM Modi criticized Congress for adopting “urban Naxal politics” and accused it of stealing the agenda and language of its allies. He labeled Congress a “parasitic party”, alleging that it not only weakens itself but also brings down its political partners.
PM Modi’s Scathing Remarks on Congress
PM Modi remarked that the Congress is now giving itself a “gold medal of defeat.” He said, “Once again, people have sent a strong message to Congress. It has achieved a double hat-trick of zero in the Delhi elections.” He accused Congress leaders of promoting urban Naxal ideologies, which, he claimed, are intended to create anarchy in society.

“Today, Congress is not working for national interest but is driven by urban Naxalism. When its leaders talk about fighting against India and the Indian state, they are using the language of Naxalites. In Delhi, AAP also promoted this same ideology. The Congress’s urban Naxal mindset attacks the nation’s achievements and seeks to impose its own economic, social, and political system. The DNA of urban Naxalites has entered Congress, and this is why the party is collapsing at every step,” Modi alleged.
He further claimed that Congress is dragging down its allies, saying, “Congress is not just drowning itself, but also those who support it. It has become a parasitic party, eliminating its allies one by one.”
Congress’s Decline and Failed Electoral Strategies
PM Modi also took a swipe at Congress leaders for abandoning temple visits after realizing they failed to gain political mileage. He claimed that Congress tried to “play the Hindu card” post-2014 by visiting temples and performing rituals, but when it failed to win votes, it stopped those efforts altogether.
“For five years after 2014, they tried to pose as devout Hindus, visiting temples and performing pujas. They thought they could dent BJP’s vote bank. But when they saw that it didn’t work, they gave up,” Modi said.
He also accused Congress of undermining its allies in different states by stealing their voter base.
“In Uttar Pradesh, Congress is trying to snatch the vote bank that Samajwadi Party and BSP claim as their own. Mulayam Singh ji understood this very well. In Tamil Nadu, Congress is attempting to lure DMK supporters by speaking the same language as DMK. In Bihar, Congress is poisoning the atmosphere with caste politics and trying to weaken its ally RJD. The allies of the INDIA bloc have now started understanding Congress’s real intentions,” Modi asserted.
BJP’s Historic Victory in Delhi
With the BJP securing 48 seats in the 70-member Delhi Assembly, the party has ended its 27-year political exile in the capital, replacing AAP, which managed only 22 seats. Congress, once a dominant force in Delhi, failed to win a single seat, marking yet another major setback.
The BJP’s campaign, led by PM Modi, targeted AAP over governance failures, corruption allegations, and issues such as the Yamuna river pollution and renovation of Arvind Kejriwal’s residence. Modi’s aggressive approach appears to have resonated with voters, leading to the BJP’s decisive return to power in Delhi.
With this win, the BJP has reclaimed control of the national capital, reinforcing its position ahead of the 2026 General Elections.
