Deputy CM’s Unique Initiative: Folk Artists Enchant Albert Hall with ‘Cultural Diaries’
Padma Shri Gani Brothers’ Melodious Evening Set for Saturday
Jaipur – In an effort to preserve and promote Rajasthan’s rich cultural heritage, the sixth episode of ‘Cultural Diaries’ was held on Friday at Albert Hall, Jaipur in a vibrant and colorful cultural evening. This initiative, led by Deputy Chief Minister Diya Kumari, showcased the traditional folk arts of the Hadoti region on a grand stage. The event coincided with the 139th foundation day of Albert Hall, further enhancing its significance.
Folk artists from Hadoti infused the air with their vibrant performances, captivating both local audiences and international tourists. The enthusiastic response from the crowd elevated the energy of the entire event, making it a truly immersive cultural experience.
A Night of Enthralling Folk Performances
As dusk set in, the stage came alive with a series of mesmerizing performances. The Chakri dance, led by Roopsingh Chachoda (Chhabra) and his troupe, saw gracefully twirling women synchronizing with the beats of dhols and manjiras, painting a mesmerizing picture of Rajasthan’s folk vibrancy.
Ashok Kashyap (Jhalawar) and his team performed the Danda Bindori dance, a traditional form symbolizing energy, unity, and heritage. Their spirited presentation won thunderous applause from the audience.
This was followed by an electrifying Sahariya dance performance by Harikesh Singh (Shahabad, Baran) and his troupe, depicting the festive fervor of Diwali and Holi, while illustrating the deep bond between nature and humanity through sacred dance traditions. Their performance left the audience spellbound, earning resounding appreciation.
Next, Jugal Chaudhary from Jhalawar showcased the Kanagwali dance, offering a glimpse into age-old beliefs and customs. Kunal Gandharv from Kota took the Bhavai dance to another level with an innovative twist—while the dance is typically performed using earthen pots or bicycle rims, this time, the skilled dancer balanced and maneuvered on a bullock cart wheel, delivering an awe-inspiring act of agility and precision.
Under the direction of Vinita Chauhan (Kota), the Bindori dance brought the joy of a traditional wedding procession to life on stage.
