Peace Committee Meeting Held with Christian Community in Civil Lines, Raipur

Raipur : A peace committee meeting was held in the auditorium of Civil Lines, Raipur, under the chairmanship of Dr. Lal Umed Singh, Deputy Inspector General and Senior Superintendent of Police, Raipur, along with Shri Vijay Agarwal, Senior Superintendent of Police, Baloda Bazar. The meeting was attended by office bearers and public representatives of the Christian community.

Prominent attendees included Arun Pannalal, President of Chhattisgarh Christian Forum, church committee members Vicky Pal and Amit Das, Archana, Sarpanch of Gram Panchayat Vishrampur, Reshu Masih, Sarpanch of Gram Panchayat Ganeshpur, and other dignitaries.

Discussion on Peace and Security Arrangements on March 1

The meeting focused on ensuring social harmony, peace, and security in Christian-dominated areas such as Vishrampur, Ganeshpur, and Jhanakpur on March 1, 2025.

Dr. Lal Umed Singh informed that a controversial post related to these villages had been circulated recently. The police have registered an FIR and are investigating the matter. He mentioned that the post might be fake, but no conclusive evidence has been found yet. A thorough inquiry is underway to clarify all aspects.

The police administration urged all citizens to maintain social harmony, resolve disputes amicably, and cooperate in upholding law and order. They also assured that appropriate legal actions would be taken to maintain peace and security.

Strict Action Against Animal Cruelty

Senior Superintendent of Police Vijay Agarwal stated that with the cooperation of villagers, strict action has been taken against animal cruelty. Offenders found violating the Animal Cruelty Act will face severe legal consequences, and those providing protection to such offenders will also be penalized.

Public representatives and officials were urged to remain vigilant against such crimes and actively contribute to raising awareness at the community level. The attendees assured their commitment to taking necessary initiatives in this regard.

Demand for Police Patrolling and Strengthened Security

The representatives and villagers present at the meeting requested regular police patrolling and enhanced security in their villages to ensure a sense of safety among residents.

Additionally, a special request was made to implement strict security measures during the board examinations starting on March 1, 2025, to prevent any disruptions.

Police Assurance: Tight Security During Board Exams

Senior Superintendent of Police Vijay Agarwal assured that police patrolling would be intensified, and continuous flag marches would be conducted to ensure villagers’ safety.

He emphasized that no one should feel insecure and that every possible measure would be taken to uphold peace, harmony, and law and order. Special security arrangements will be in place during the board examinations to ensure that no disturbances occur.

Appeal to Maintain Social Harmony and Peace

At the conclusion of the meeting, all citizens were urged to maintain peace, avoid spreading rumors, and extend full cooperation with the police administration.
