Lucknow, July 2026 : Under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Uttar Pradesh continues to establish itself as a major sporting hub through sustained investments in sports infrastructure, athlete development, and the hosting of marquee sporting events. As part of this vision, the fourth season of the UP T20 League was officially launched on Monday with the unveiling of tickets for the league’s opening ceremony at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow.

Grand Opening Ceremony on August 14

During the launch event, 4,000 tickets for the opening ceremony were made available at discounted prices. Tickets for the Upper Block have been priced at Rs 349, while Lower Wing tickets are available for Rs 499. The tickets will be sold on a first-come, first-served basis and can also be purchased through the e-District mobile application.

The opening ceremony, scheduled for August 14 at the Ekana Stadium, promises a spectacular entertainment lineup. Renowned sitar virtuoso Rishab Rikhiram Sharma and celebrated singer Jasmine Sandlas will perform live. The evening will also feature a grand drone show and an elaborate fireworks display, showcasing a spectacle being presented in Uttar Pradesh for the first time. Popular sports broadcaster Jatin Sapru will host the ceremony.

Lucknow to Host 22 Matches, Kanpur 12

UP T20 League Governing Council Chairman Dr. Sanjay Kapoor said that the upcoming edition marks a significant milestone as the tournament will be conducted across two cities for the first time.

The first phase of the tournament will be held at Ekana Cricket Stadium, Lucknow, from August 14 to August 26, where a total of 22 matches, including the opening fixture, will be played.

The second phase will begin on August 28 at Green Park Stadium in Kanpur, which will host 12 matches. The tournament will conclude with the grand final on September 6 in Kanpur, followed by an impressive closing ceremony.

Dr. Kapoor added that the opening ceremony will feature vibrant cultural performances, reflecting the league’s commitment to combining sporting excellence with entertainment and creating a memorable experience for fans.
