“India Edges Out Pakistan in Thrilling 6-Run Victory at T20 World Cup!”
In the ICC Men’s T20 Cricket World Cup, India triumphed over Pakistan by 6 runs in a thrilling match at Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York. After being put in to bat first, India posted a total of 119 runs in 19 overs, having been bowled out by the Pakistani pacers. Rishabh Pant, scoring 42 runs from 31 balls, and Axar Patel, contributing 20 runs from 18 balls, helped the Men in Blue set a competitive target. For Pakistan, Haris Rauf and Naseem Shah each claimed three wickets, while Mohammad Amir took two.
The Indian bowling unit, led by Jasprit Bumrah, valiantly restricted Pakistan to 113 runs for seven wickets in their 20 overs, falling just 6 runs short of the target. Bumrah was outstanding, taking three wickets and conceding only 14 runs in his four overs. Hardik Pandya took two wickets, and Axar Patel and Arshdeep Singh chipped in with one wicket each. Bumrah was named Player of the Match. This match also marked the lowest target India has successfully defended in T20 internationals.
